Went for Bosmer in the end mate, Khajit will have to wait.

Anyway, being a theif/ranger character is fantastic man. I'm having much more fun doing this than playing a mage. The quests are better, the rewards are better and I actually feel part of something. Part of a movement to bring the theives guild back to its former glory and I actually want to help. Within the mages college it just felt like I was plonking along with whatever they told me to do, but with the theives guild it feels like I have to do things my own way.

This game truly is fantastic.

This is the way I'm playing the game currently, a ranger if you will, sneak attacks with the bow is the first choice but I'm happy to switch to my swords if shit doesn't go my way. I am really enjoying the game and would say it's the best game I've played this year.

Oh man, hilarious moment last night.

I was tracking a fox just for the hell of it, but it kept running away, even though I was sneaking. Then I found myself being detected by something, but I thought it was just the fox looking back on me. Then all of a sudden a skeever comes out of nowhere and chases down the fox and kills it, so i'm thinking yes, i'll just take all of their shit, only for a cave bear to appear out of nowhere and maul the skeever  Talk about food chains!

Then I killed the bear :smug:

It's a masterpiece. I'm playing as a battlemage of sorts, mostly relying on two-handed weapons, heavy armour and smithing but at the same time also resorting to spells (particularly with regard to healing oneself) and a more sneaky approach. Certainly not information to kill for, but thought I'd just elaborate on my own role as well, ha.

In a situation like this, a commendable weapon to use, I reckon. I'm sure he'll agree tomorrow evening or whenever he's cleared up again!

Yes, I saw one yesterday as a matter of fact. We had a conversation about dry stone walls.

Oh, you meant on the game...in that case, no.

So, anyone seen any talking dogs?

Yep. He's waiting for me somewhere as part of a quest. Can't remember where though... all I can remember was some guy wanted a dog and had said there was one waiting outside town on the road. A bit surreal, but then again... Dragons.

Now I've made it to level 18 I felt looking for a fucking dog was beneath me...

It was some considerable time ago... I'm level 42. Killing dragons is now beneath me :folarm:

Judging by the challenge I'm having at 18, is there much that is a challenge at level 42?

Depends. The Falmer and Forsworn in numbers are a bitch and I'm weak to some magics, but in the main, no, nothing concerns me. Trolls die easy, giants are my bitches and most of the small/standard dragons crumble beneath my blade. The only real big challenge now are the named dragons and mini bosses (Deathlords & the magic dudes with masks).

I may add though that I have a particular shout now that is really effective against dragons. You'll only get it following the dragon storyline.

My Daedric two handed sword deals 70ish points damage, allied to a 20 point shock damage, so each hit is pretty devastating to most enemies.

I think I'm far enough a long the dragon quest to be aware of the shout to which you refer. Yeah, I fought a couple of Forsworn with my two Blades companions by my side and must say they would be deadly for me en mass. I can take down giants with my bow but it takes time and a fair bit of dodging getting my skull caved in. My bow currently hits with about 36 damage which is tidy considering I can usually get 2/3 shots in before an enemy gets too close. A sneak attack with my will take down a lot in one shot. I expect to be pretty deadly in time.

Is your guy a heavy armour, toe to toe type?

Bit mixed on the armour. I have favoured the companions wolf armour in the main, partly as I have enchanted it to increase my carrying capacity. That was only needed as I really ramped up the strength and omitted the stamina to begin with.

Tend not to get to to-to-toe battles if I can help it. I have 100 sneak as well as 100 two-hand (a strange combination, but it's really working for me!), so I can usually take out individuals very easily.

Have done the thieves guild (+ nightingales) so have started using their light armour. Partly as it looks pretty tidy, but it also has some serious benefits.

God this game couldn't get any faggier than that line right there.

PS3 patch is out which sets to fix the PS3 issue, early reports were good, a few hours later the same people were reporting the same problems were appearing time and time again.

I think I may buy a 360.
