Slide card- any good?

Is the slide card any good? I really wanna play this game and played all the previous WE's, but modding my old ps2 was a bad idea as it subsequently died. Now i have a new ps2 and was told of the slide card, so can anyone tell me:

how it works, is it high risk?

I've had my slide-card w/ swap magic 2.0 disks and it works fine. Does the trick everytime, infact. You might want to get 3.0 now that its out. Its not a risk at all. You don't even have to make any internal modifications to your PS2. I would buy one. There pretty cheap.

It took only 4 days and it shipped from Canada to TX.

i have a slide card, v3 cd & v2 dvd (i think thats right), silver ps2 (v9, i believe) i play patched pes3 & lord of the rings return of the king no problems at all. i even convinced jag to remove his front cover from his silver ps2 and he said it works fine, as does mine.

Having followed all the instructions laid out in the Sticky thread Guide to Making your PES3 DVD into a cd and patching it I took my newly burned CD home and waited for the slide thing to arrive. I had to wait all weekend (it was due on Friday) which was frustrating as you can imagine.

It came this morning and I booted up from the CD Magic CD disk. However it then didn't say "Insert Disk" as in the instructions. It gave me two options. So I slid the slidy thing and got the disk out and put theburned one in and pressed x.

At this point a load of blue and red lines appeared on the screen behind the menu screen (which had turned red) and scrolled up the page.

And nothing else happened.

The question is am I doing something wrong (the instructions with it are not very help). Or have I just got a duff burn? I am attempting it with the 5.1.04 patch. The .bin file 721,913 KB.

Apologies if this is in the wrong thread.

Any help much appreciated.

Funnily enough the problem was that I hadn't read the instructions properly.

I was forgetting the final slide.

After playing PES3 last night for 5 hours with all the kits, music, stadiums etc I can confidentaly say that slide cards are the tits.

My pc is really slow so I don't think I can go through all the patching stuff but I'm seriously thinking of getting we7:i and a slide card to play it with.
