Slide card- any good?

Is the slide card any good? I really wanna play this game and played all the previous WE's, but modding my old ps2 was a bad idea as it subsequently died. Now i have a new ps2 and was told of the slide card, so can anyone tell me:

how it works, is it high risk?

its class mate i have it. its not high risk. the only thing u have to do is take off the front of the disc tray. (the bit with the rotational PS on it)
trust me it is well worth it!especially to see that new chelsea away kit on there!

they work well as long as you are careful very careful. I have had a PS2 ruined by a friend who didn't know what he was doing. But I use it every day and it works like a charm..

there is a certain techique to the slide bit, dont be to rough with it. It took me about the best part of an hour to get the slide trick right but once you have got it, its as simple as pie.

Its alot cheaper than a mod and it wont void the warrenty if its still under a year old.
