There seems to be a lot more plastic around the disc tray on my Silver PS2. Will the Slide Card still work??

well then itll work then why ask the question if you know the answer lol ;)
Did you read my post?? The Silver PS2 in the video has a lot less plastic around the disc tray. I have removed the front of the disc tray and there does not appear to be anywhere I could insert a slide card.

I'm just looking for someone to clarify whether I need to remove any "excess" plastic to allow me to use the card.

Anyone?

i have a slide card, the disk tray is closed when you make the slide(s) and you insert the slide card underneath the disk tray when its closed. hopefully it clears it up for you.
if it works with a silver ps2 on the video then it should work for yours but i couldnt say 100% as i dont own a silver ps2

I know the disc tray is closed when you insert the card there just doesn't seem to be any room on my PS2 for a card to "slide" in.

i know i first thought that. but there is room. have you actually got the slide card yet?

gimme 2 secs and ill post a pic of how much gap there is in my ps2 for the slide card to fit in

That's how little room I have :(

There's a kinda sloped bit of plastic below where the actual disc tray is (dark section on my poor quality pic) and the gap between the 2 is no wider than a millimetre.

Is that normal?

the slide tool isnt very thick, the only thick part is the grip where you hold it. the space between the disc tray is good enough for even a credit card. so dont worry too much just try it out and it will work great. :D

yea, the tool is so thin that it would break if you bend it just enough. my friend snapped his on accident because he was testing how flexible the material is.LOL.:D
