How do you get weapons from underneath the ring? I've done it before, but that was by luck more than judgment. I think I pressed :square: and :L1: or :L2:?

I'm still annoyed/disappointed with a number of aspects of this game, particular the roster which is far too out of date, but it is still quite enjoyable. I spend most of my time in GM mode or Exhibition Title matches.

Who are your current champions?

Mine are..

World Heavyweight Champion: Eddie Guerrero

beat Undertaker, Randy Orton, Batista, Rey Mysterio & JBL in the Elimination Chamber.

#1 contender: Randy Orton

WWE Champion: Kurt Angle

beat John Cena in a Last Man Standing Match

#1 contender: Edge

WWE Tag Champs: Rey Mysterio & Chris Benoit

beat Muhammed Hassan and Khosrow Davairi in a Cage match.

#1 contenders: Christian and Charlie Haas

World Tag Champs: Ric Flair & Shawn Michaels

beat Kane & Big Show and RVD & Shelton Benjamin in a 3-way ladder match.

#1 contenders: Rob Van Dam & Shelton Benjamin

Intercontinental Champ: Edge

beat Chris Jericho in an Ironman match

#1 contender: Carlito

US Champion: Rey Mysterio

beat Chris Benoit, Paul London, Booker T in a ladder match

#1 contender: JBL

Cruiserweight Champion: Yoshiro Tajiri

beat Chavo Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Paul London, Scotty 2 Hotty and Spike Dudley in a 6 man pinfall elimination Battle Royal.

#1 contender: Paul London

Womens Champ: Trish Stratus

hasn't defended the title

tht always happens with the roster! by the time it gets finalised they bring in more stars so they dont make the game! Im enjoying it quite a bit! Im mainly creating people! got a cracking jeff and matt hardy and made myself! just do title matches and season but it gets far too repetitive!

Yeah it does, i'm getting a bit bored now, find myself doing the same matches and using the same wrestlers all the time. The Season and GM mode gets boring pretty quickly.

The create-a-wrestler can be good for creating wrestlers not in the game, but not having their proper theme song, entrance, taunts etc takes the shine off it.

There is no excuse for not having the likes of Paul Burchill, The Mexicools, Matt Hardy and MNM as they all joined months ago! It surely can't take that long to add a few wrestlers to the roster, even if it was delayed for a month, i'm sure people would be far more satisfied if Bobby Lashley, Ken Kennedy and other current main eventers were included.

I can help you with that one. To be able to pick up a weapon form underneath the ring you simply have to walk towards the centre of the apron whilst outside of the ring of course, and then press Square.

The Season Mode does definetely get repetitive after a while though. I find Royal Rumble's difficult, has anyone else found this ? When I get initially flung over the rope and clenching for dear life, no matter how rapidly I press the buttons I always seem to go out. And believe me I can button bash for Britain, I was the master at International Track & Field. ;)

Cheers for that mate, i'll try it out.

I used to find the Rumble matches hard, but win most of them now. In season mode, I had to enter 1st on 3 occasions, but won them all  One of them in strange circumstances, I was eliminated by Shawn Michaels (he was the 29th entrant) and the GM said that Michaels had stolen someone elses number, so the match should be restarted with the last 6 participants. :D

I just try to stay away from the edges of the ring or where it's crowded, and make sure I fill my momentum meter so I can store a finishing move to automatically hold on when someone tries to eliminate you. I've been able to hold on in the past without using a finishing move, but when you're double-teamed, it's impossible. I hate the Rumble matches though, having to push them off the apron is shit, how often does that happen usually?

That storyline happened to me in my Season Mode, but Booket T was the cheater. They didn't plan it well though because I was first in and Booker was second, and why the fuck would he steal second place.

Yeah I agree, it is pretty silly. They should definetely go back to the old technique with Royal Rumble matches where it was different. If you get some speed going off the ropes you are more likely to go hurling over the ropes and slap straight off the mat. Not miraculously grip onto the top rope and get back into the ring.

PS: Does anyone remember when The Rock held on against Big Show in the Rumble, and it was clearly visible that his feet bounced off the ground.

The season mode is crap, I'm sorry, but how can it be entertaining when there are a total of three or four subjects that crop up in any season that you start.

I done the RAW one with Chris Masters and pissed it, then I done the Smackdown one with Carlito and found that easy too. Now whenever I start a new one I feel as if I'm going over old ground.

Tip for the ROYAL RUMBLE, if you skip it, you'll win. The reason for this is because the winner of the rumble gets a title shot at Wrestlemania and if you don't win, the season is pretty pointless. If you decide to have a go and get eliminated, Bischoff will come out and say the winner has cheated and you'll get another chance in a mini battle royal which is a doddle. If you don't win that, the season is over automatically. Then again, if you can't win that match, you should turn the PS2 off and find a new game.

This game has actually grown on me. I don't really like wrestling all that much now, I watch it occasionally but it doesn't excite me. People have mentioned about certain stars not being in it, well good, because I like making CAWs. Take a look at some of the stuff online, some of the CAWs people have made are unreal, they are amazing. Plus with this "Create-an-entrance" it's like you actually have the character, some of the appearances online are superb, try it out sometime.

My champions on the exhibition mode are.....

World Champion - British Bulldog
WWE Champion - Hollywood Hogan
Intercontinental - Carlito
US Champion - Booker T
Cruiserweight - Rey Mysterio
World Tag Champs - Big Show & Kane
WWE Tag Champs - The Headbangers, Mosh and Thrasher (CAWs)
Womens Champion - Trish

plus my custom titles....

RAW Champion - Steve Austin
SMACKDOWN Champion - Randy Orton

My CAWs I've created so far....

Mosh
Thrasher
Sting (Old School)
Steve Corino
Lashley
Jeff Hardy
MNM
Jeff Jarrett

I like the idea of having to wear down your opponents before eliminating them as it was a bit silly in the past Rumble matches where you could just run up and irish whip a new entrant over the ropes. Although having said that, it's realistic to be able to eliminate opponents just seconds after they get in, so maybe they can think of some other format to make it work, perhaps having the weaker wrestlers like Spike Dudley, Scotty 2 Hotty etc easy to throw over, whereas the stronger wrestlers like Batista, Kane and The Big Show need to be worn down.

Haha, yeah, then they had to have a match at No Way Out, that The Big Show won after interference by Shane McMahon(?) which led to a Fatal 4 way at WM for some reason. Great main event, though.

That was when wrestling used to be good.

Does anyone actually remember when WCW Nitro and WWF RAW were competing against each other?

I'd watch Nitro on TNT from 9-10 then switch to RAW and watch that from 10-12, switching to Nitro in-between breaks up until 11 and after that, switching to porn inbetween breaks up to 12. Fantastic.

LOL. They were the good days, with the Coporation vs DX, Rock vs Mankind, Austin vs McMahons, Everyone 'bangin' Ken Shamrocks sister, Goldust and Blue Meanies 'weird relationship', the Brood giving people blood baths, the Job Squad, could go on and on.

I did not really watch Nitro much, but I did use to flick over in the commercials.

Wrestling was at it's best then, because they was competition. They isn't any today, that is why people want TNA to become big and serious.

It was great back then. Now there is no competition, Vince Mcmahon and the storyline writers are slacking.

TNA is appalling. Jeff Jarrett or Raven as the company's champion really isn't going to pull in the viewers. Can't see it ever being able to compete with WWE. Has anyone seen it on Eurosport? The English commentator on there is terrible, his squealing voice gives me a headache.

The season mode is shit to be honest mate, it lasts just 1 year and about a quarter of it is some boring Legends tour, where you face The Undertaker, Mankind, Bret Hart etc, it's alright the first time, but having to repeat it every season gets extremely boring. The GM mode is better, but that gets boring pretty soon too, I usually just play exhibition matches, multi-player can be quite fun.

It could be repetitive, but it is real fun honestly. You get to create your own matches, choose a rivalry between two superstars, set title matches, set the matches during PPV's (depends which brand you pick). You can make hell in a cell matches, ladder matches, name it. The main point is to beat the opposing brand and tempt the fans to tune in into your brand every week. Oh, and at the beginning, you decide to either draft the superstars or have it as the defaul roster. ;)

You get to pick a Brand, Raw or Smackdown, and then you pick the matches for each show (and play them if you want to), and can start rivalries. You can make trades, and you have to keep a watch on wrestlers popularity levels (which will increase or decrease depending on whether they are winning or losing matches) and their stamina levels (if you keep using them week-in, week-out, they could pick up an injury and be on the sidelines for a while). Wrestlers also have a morale level, and if they aren't winning many matches, not getting any title shots or not being used, they may become unhappy. You have a budget so shouldn't have Hell In A Cell matches on every show for example, and having those type of special matches can tire down the superstars, so it's best to have some variety, and that will also pull in more viewers. At the end of each show, you see how many viewers each show received and receive details of each show. The show and every match receives a rating out of 5. At the end of the year, the best GM receives the GM manager of the year award.

It's not bad, it's got huge potential, it's quite fun to push your favourite wrestlers to become main eventers, increasing their popularity and giving them shots at the title, but it becomes a bit boring/repetitive, but it's something they can work on and it should become a great feature in the next few SD vs Raw games.

Yeah, you can create factions in create a stable mode.

I think the best wrestler is Kurt Angle. He has an overall rating of 95. Triple H also has 95, but isn't quite as good as Angle has a better variety of moves, ranging from mat wrestling to submissions. Batista has a rating of 88, but has amazing power, a couple of big moves do a great amount of damage to the opponent. Rey Mysterio is very fun to use, he can easily reverse moves with his speed and does loads of high flying and quick pinfall moves. Edge is also good, although it's maybe too easy using him. You can simply perform a few spears by running up to them and pressing circle and down and do a lot of damage to your opponent. Eddie Guerrero is also excellent all-round.

My top 5 would be Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Batista, Rey Mysterio and Edge. Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, The Undertaker, Chris Benoit and Kane pushing them close.
