Snow....

I cant remember where I read it ( I think it was from WEBN ) and it might have been Adam or Suff who said that Konami have promised to include frozen turf and snow. I know I read it somewhere for a fact, and it was from someone who playtested the game. Hope its true....

I remember that too, at the time I thought hope not, games are not played on frozen turf unless it is Sunday league that is!

good point. You just wouldn't see a frozen pitch at wembley or stad da france, not with all the state of the art under soil heating etc.

it would be nice to see snow and the orange ball, but frozen pitches is a NO NO! (maybe on the training ground)

russians play with snow dont they ?

Thats because theres tons of the stuff there! ;)

Hardly see any in England, don't know about the rest of Europe, but I guess they have all the snow during their winter breaks. WOuld be nice, but as we don't have many Russian teams can't see frozen pitches being a popular edition, unless you have to have your match in master league rearranged due to a frozen pitch.

Don't know why everyone is complaining to be honest, we wouldn't be playing on a pure bed of ice as some people seem to think in here by the reactions. The majority of the snow will be brushed off the pitch by the sidelines I imagine with only small areas of the pitch containing snow. It will be a welcome addition (again) and will add variety to the game types, pitch textures and help us become better players by having to adapt to different situations and conditions. Not every match in the world is played in sunny Spain, and some of the eastern european matches I can see having a lot of snow during the winter time. Therefore making the game that little bit more realistic.

Ewood Park

yes thats all well and good, but ewood park isn't going to be in the game. Its only going to be the big stadia with all the high tech heated soil etc etc. (maybe ewood park has under soil heating, i don't know)

but the point is, a game being played at the new wembley with snow will look good, but in reality it won't make a difference to how the ball bounces or rolls across the grass, because the pitch itself won't (shouldn't) be effected by the icey conditions.

If however you want the visuals then sure that would be great.

Let's say you play a opponent and he lobs you goalkeeper, but because of snow/rain the ball stops before the line. Priceless. The more snow the better. i hope they integrate all the effects that comes with snow.

i never said ewood park was going to be in the game, i was just pointing out the snow on the outside of the pitch, it will be cool and realistic to have that on the outside of the pitch.

Imagine you take a shoot and the keeper goes towards it but it deflects off of a defender......and goes the other way REAL slowly....keeper tries to change directions but slips and falls and continues to struggle towards.....

what a scene that would be!

would be nice to have northern sub tropical climate people die in the heat IE Brazil x England WC 2002... with a man up (ronaldinho red card) england didn't do anything...

later my english friend said it was due to the heat... would be nice to see that implemented... where as south american an africans and asians should keep pace as opposed to northern euros who suffer under 40º weather

i think weather should have a much bigger effect on the pitch like if england play against brazil away you could see sweaty shirt with real sloppy preformances... then when its cold and snow's you see players shivering maybe...

And vice versa - players from hot countries playing way under expectation in colder climates.

I'd like to see occasional changes in the weather during games - eg a game starting off well, but a sudden burst of rain leaves the rest of the game slidey and messy.

I read somewhere that weather is dependant on where the game is played so Eastern European teams should play on snowy pitches every so often.

Also, not all the stadia are huge and modern, there have been a few screens with one of the old PS2 stadiums that looks a bit like Ewood Park and a few other English stadiums. (directed at deanos63)
