Online though, there is only one footie game and it totally beats me what Konami are thinking of with their 83rd rate online (lack of) effort, especially since PES5 actually worked pretty good in comparison. From what I am seeing with my own eyes, old time Pro Evo veterans are turning towards FIFA in their droves purely for its online functionality. Konami must surely be losing a lot of customers......I wonder what the sales of PES 2009 are like compared proportionately with previous figures. If the only people buying and playing the game were people that I was friends with, their sales would be down around 75%!

I was actually thinking of renting Fifa to check out the online. Do you think it is worth it?

Oh yeah... Fifa Online plays like a dream. You can even be playing guys from South America (I'm in Britain btw) and not be troubled with the lag issues you get playing your next door neighbour in PES.

FIFA09 is also a well decent game although I personally prefer ProEvo. But if online was your main or only concern in a footie game then I would have to recommend FIFA over PES.

As an overall package FIFA offers more with its licences, and endless features and great online play.
But the game still plays like a dog, despite Pro Evo not improving a great deal, its still improved and still a beautiful game.
I enjoy pro evo much more
