To be honest, I'll be happy with PES 2010 IF...

a) 360 degree control works properly and allows me to actually play through balls, long aerial balls and ground passes exactly where I want them.

b) The graphics look like they do in the Gamescom preview, in which they're rather great-looking.

c) The passing isn't as shitty as it was in PES '09, which almost ruins the game.

d) Players don't have so much trouble controlling the ball and it's not extremely hard to take the ball away from opposition players.

e) Animations are sorted out and player's don't move so robotically and can't make a 90 degree turn on a dime.

That's about it.
Pretty much sums it all. I agree with you.:)

We're glad you approve. :D PES '09 just feels un-finished in some areas. It feels like what you'd expect a Gamescom build to be for instance... lol

Chuffed to bits pes2010 will put konami back on the map with fluid player control and a much needed dimension to the gameplay.

I bet dave ruttler of ea feels like the bottom of his world has fallen out.

No doubt about it pes09 was more enjoyable then fifa09 and now with 360 movement and the tactics slider and card system pes2010 will be mind blowing!!!!!!

The only thing is the endless wait for release which cant come soon enough....hopefully its finished and they go head to head with fifa on the 2 of october...

Dude, you keep on spilling little bits of info every now and then... How is it that you can say this -but- not say who you work for?? Or at least give the slighest confirmation that what you're saying is true.

Anyways,

I'm not saying I believe you... But I do think the animations and responsiveness of the game will be much better/realistic, in the final build. It just doesn't makes sense that we have great-looking Graphics but average Animations.

I mean, Konami know Animations are the poorest aspect of PES09, plus the Graphics were/are not next-gen. So in PES09, both graphics and animations are more or less of the same level.

I'm expecting the same with PES10, animations that are on-par with the next-gen graphics that we've seen at Gamescom.

I agree with you, it'd be stupid to have mind-blowing (or as Russell Peters would say, mind-blasting :D) graphics like the ones showcased in screenshots and the Gamescon build and have animations that let it way down. I'm also waiting for some sort of hint from Perfectstrik, the publication he writes for, how and when he got the '95%' build, anything. Surely the name of the magazine he writes for isn't sensitive info...?

So Gamescom is over and what have I learnt? Alot less than I'd hoped for when I started this thread... I really was hoping Konami to come out all guns blazing at Gamescom but once again we're reduced to scraping around for videos that show us little to no evidence of the fabled 360 movement, improved animations or anything else that justifies the belief/hope that this will be the next gen PES title we're all looking for. It does look pretty though... BAH! Photo-realism does not a great game make. At least the AI looks to have been improved...

So me bubble is deflated, if not yet burst. I'm clinging to the slim hope that the game will show it's true colours once the demo is released, because once that happens there really is nowhere left to hide.

I don't want to start yet another Fifa vs Pes flame war (sshh Tech-Skill...) but one thing that has interested me about Fifa is the ability to customise set pieces. Has this featured before? With all the hype surrounding 360 movement this is something Konami have not alluded to at all. I'd really like to see something like this in PES, and as long as they're not bullet-proof (ie not guaranteed to score everytime as that would be boring) should we not be lobbying for this to be included in future titles? With all Seabass' exhortations of tactics and strategy, surely this is must?

I think the game looks decent enough but i can seriously see myself trading it in probably 2 months down the line to get a pre-owned Fifa. With Fifa 2010 i think i'd probably keep it for a year but with pes 2010 i cant see past christmas tbh.

The thing i noticed aswell in the videos is that the movement is fucked up. I saw a corner coming at Riena and 7 players moved about 10 yeards in 0.1 seconds and ran into the goal/net ffs. iT was soooo unrelistic and i think the gameplay still hasnt been utilized.

Its kinda hard to tell how good it is because they only seem to let complete cretons with parkinsons disease play this game and upload videos. No offence anyone.

But if we look at the game from the bright side;
The defending looks improved
Defenders close down better
AI is better
Harder
Individuality is improved greatly
I think that those are clear improvements from the videos shown so far. But final judgement will be when we play the game.

^Excactly. The keepers are looking good this year.
Oh and btw, I do not mind keeper mistakes. In reality even Buffon makes mistakes.

i hope you dont mean " i don't mind kepper mistakes" as in when theres a back pass to the keeper, instead of passing to a defender or booting it foward (like a human) they decide to slide tackle the ball and then its either an own goal or the nearest opposing attacker latches onto it and scores :realmad:

sorry mods/admins for double posting

Nothing matters unless online play works properly.

Online play is uninteresting in my opinion, a footy game should have enough entertainement as a stand alone single player game and online exhibition matches interest me where the sun don't shine, honestly.

It is at best a nice addition, but should only be focused on after everything else is 95% (or more) perfect.

So true, I'm happy as long as it's a step up from PES2009, wich I still find annoyingly entertaining despite it's flaws.
PES6 was a incredible game when it came, PES2009 was not, but it's still a step up from the previous versions in my opinion.
So if 2010 is better than 2009 overall, then I am happy.

Most of all I want to see a vastly improved Become a Legend, wich is the aspect of the game I enjoy the most, I have not played a single Master League game on pes2009 yet and I'mnot going to!

cheers guys, and good luck with 2010!

I think its bad that they make mistakes, yes they do in real life but the simple shots that they palm right in to your strikers path, I dont know how much goals I scored because of this, yes I scored but it annoyed me that they drop easy shots.

^That should be lessend in pes 2010 for sure. But still every keeper sometimes does it.
Look at Frey yesterday. He punched the ball several times when he could have caught it easily (considering his skill).
