Pes 2009 is a good game but its many flaws stop it from being a great game.
heres what i think of konami and pes plz read and if u disagree thats fine its just my opinion on things anyways lets go.
U Gotta Crawl B4 U Walk............
Konami need to stop developing pes on the PS2 Nintendo Wii and ds they are trying to do much at once. its way too expensive and wayy too much work to do every year for a small company like konami. This is probably why they lose most of the licenses for the leagues in the game because they have to pay more staff to make the game on all these different platforms fifa can get away with doing all platforms coz EA have the Cash to do it.
All Eyez On The Prize........
Konami need to focus their attention on the ps3, xbox 360, PC and if they want to go handheld aswell then strictly keep it to the psp as it is the most powerful handheld right now and it plays just like the ps2 version so not much dev work has to be done to get it on the psp this will allow them the time to work more effectively instead of rushing the game to get it all platforms. selling copies of a great pes on ps3 and 360 alone would surely encourage ps2 users to go next gen especially with the huge fanbase that pes has thus helping the series move on from last gen.
1 Step Forward, 2 Steps Back.....
When pes 6 came out it was released on pc ps2 xbox 360 and the psp version came later. PC ps2 psp versions were great, the only thing that was wrong with pes 6 was that the 360 version lacked an edit mode and the option to save replays and that was it the gameplay was fine online and offline. graphics were decent (could of been better) but it was their first year developing on a next gen system so if anything the major gameplay problems should of started with that first 360 version with it being new hardware, but it didnt. it doesnt make sense how next gen pes2008 and pes2009 have more problems than the previous game on next gen. but wait lets go back to my point about platforms to find the answer to this. Pes2008 probably one of the most anticipated football games was shot down by nearly everyone saying it was the worst pes to date and rightfully so but look what platforms it came out for, it was on PC PS2 PS3 Xbox 360, Psp NIntendo DS and Nintendo Wii now im not sure about you but for a company that can barely afford to get league licenses for their football games this is way to much work and money and as a result pes2008 was a rushed product with poor gameplay offline and online. no modes no features jus pure rubbish and was a huge blow to pes fans and the same thing happened with pes 2009 yes its better than 2008 but there are still major issues with the game it still feels rushed and is overall a dissapointment to any true pes fans and i say true fans becoz people who have jus started playing pes form 2008 and 2009 will think they are great but true fans of the series will always know that the older versions were the best. it seems to be that the more platforms pes is developed for the lesser the quality is in the games.
Where We Are Now....
Overall pes2009 is a good game its an improvement on pes 2008 but nothing to shout about a couple of new modes help it here and there like BAL. gameplay has been tweaked a bit defenders are better but it still feels the same as 2008 and is far from being as good as the older versions. the champions league addition makes the front cover look pretty but apart from that i dont see the point in having the champions league in the game if its gonna be separate mode either it needs to be put in the master leaugue or part of the online modes coz i mean come on we could of easily created a champions league mode ourselves by going into cup mode and setting up a tournament with a group and knock out phase. i said it b4 and i'll say it again for the idiots at konami, it needs to be part of the master league!! and the most important part of the game which i and most people would say is the online mode which unfortunately has tagged along with its friend mr. lagg from pes 2008 to make the online experience exactly the same as last year with its lagg, lagg, lagg and oh ye more lagg still there is no online leagues or tournaments. the online interface is dull and boring. and thats about all there is to say about pes 2009.
Where do konami go from here
basically what i said earlier in the text. its time to start getting serious for seabass and his team. the unthinkable has already happened which is fifa taking the crown from pes, another fail in 2010 from konami and it maybe goodbye pes.
