Sprinting

You double tab (at least that's the way I've always done it) the left stick in the desired direction whilst holding sprint don't you? There's also the R1+R2 "extended" sprint, I believe.

I'd check the ingame tutorials for confirmation, it should all be in there..... in theory (this is Konami we're talking about afterall ;)).

damion if you're referring to knocking the ball well ahead of yourself whilst sprinting, then I simply just double tap the sprint button (RB for Xbox 360, or R1 for the PS3).

Hope that helps, if that's what you meant.

Ah yes, Hunter. I think you can tap the left stick too can't you, or am I getting me wires crossed as usual?

There's two different ways:

1 -> throw the ball way ahead of your player, that's the R1 double tap.

2-> knock the ball a little forward (just a bit) while sprinting, that's the R2 while already sprinting (already pressing R1).

Double tapping the sprint button doesn't seem to work very well for me. What am I doing wrong?

Its double tapping the sprint, if you can't time it right, just mash it alot and you will see it work.

Anyone tried using manual pass to knock the ball ahead. I'm guessing it would be difficult (player switching issues maybe) but with a pacy player like Walcott for example it could be deadly down the flanks.

I tried the manual pass thing. But the player slows down right after he does it, and its acceleration all over again. (Doesn't help esp. if you are in open ground)

But one thing, it seems to help when you have an opponent close in front of you. You can knock the ball past him and run.

You can double and triple tap the sprint button for longer touches and greater speed. Just mashing the sprint button works as well...
