Still so many problems

At first when I had bought the game, I had those typical slowdown problems as many others here. If I played in windowed mode it ran a little bit faster, but was still unplayable. ofcourse, I tried different resolutions and quality settings. It was also a bit better when the backgrounds resolution was same as the game`s.
Then I got bored and went to the store where I bought the game. There I was told that many people had had similar problems, but for the most, the solution was to update GPU drivers. So yesterday I downloaded version 52.16 update from Nvidia`s homepage. I installed that to my machine and tried to run Pes3. The funniest thing was that now, with the latest driver, the game did not start at all. I only got to the white konami screen and then the screen started blinking. I tried everything to get it working, but with that 52.16 update nothing helped. Every other game I tried worked still fine. So if anyone knows what might be wrong, please let me know!

My specs: Amd athlonxp 2,4 ghz
512 mb ddr 333mhz
gf4 mx 440 64 mb
winXP

Exactly the same thing happened to me! I got so fed up that I went and downloaded a no-cd crack so now the problem of the disc spinning and doing nothing in the drive goes away. I'm not into piracy but as far as I know it is perfectly legal to use a no-cd crack if you own the game, anyway if they want to make the game so buggy then konami deserve what they get. I can't believe how much of a shambles they've made of the PC port. About slowdown, I'm still absolutely stuck, nothings working, although it sort've works ok with the souns card disabled. I'm just waiting for a new patch from Konami to be honest.

You've summed it up well. If I disable the sound card the game runs absolutely like a dream... now slowdowns at all at highest resolution and details. But if I can choose between slight slowdowns and no sound, I think I'll definitely choose the slowdowns. I have also tried everything under the sun and while I get improvements, it always slow down no matter what. It's weird though because the demo didn't. I am very hopeful of another patch from Konami but I'd be very suprised if we get one.

when your screen starts blinking or goes black press alt+enter to progress to the next screen. In order to totally fix this you need to reinstall (or update) your graphics drivers

Uninstall the new drivers and reinstall the old drivers. In fact, the 4X.XX is the best drivers for GF4 mx.
