...if I leave all of the def. strategies at B priority, does it mean my team is going to do all of them in the same priority? also, what kind of level do you set to your cursor-change system? I use manual.

Yes, although Back Line is slightly different - A, B and C detirmine how high up the pitch your defenders will hold their line.

Sometimes I'll put Zone Press down to C, in the belief that it will help my team hold their shape, so players won't get dragged too far out of position.

'A' is further up the pitch, compressing the game, though risky against a quick forward.

'C' will be backs to the wall, defending on the edge of your own box.

Personally, when using a Line Defence system and setting that Back Line priority to 'A', I try to avoid using Offside trap too aggressively, leaving it at 'B'. Otherwise, short passes from the opposition half can find a forward running onto them while your whole defence steps up and sprints away in the opposite direction.

Prioritising Offside Trap can be dangerous, it might work better with a Defence System set to Sweeper, so that attackers are marked by defenders and the spare sweeper is the one player who steps up. To work best, I reckon the sweeper should have a star for Back Line Control, while the rest of his defence would be better with a star for Marking.

The whole Formation A and B thing links up with the manual strategies that can be assigned to the :circle: :x: :triangle: :square: buttons and then triggered during a game by holding :L2: together with the assigned button.

Formation A and B are both offered as Manual Strategies down at the bottom, below Counter Attack and Offside Trap.

I tend to use :x: as Counter Attack, :circle: for Opposite Side attack :square: for Offside-trap, and :triangle: for either Centre-Attack or an alternative team shape/formation i.e. whatever I've created in Formation 'A' or 'B'.

Anyone use other unusual ones, like CB Overlap? How does that work?

Yeah, I use CB overlap sometimes, if I'm desperate for a goal. Otherwise it's not all that useful.

You can assign one of your CBTs to basically make forward runs into the opposition area and you end up with an extra attacker (and of course, a bit exposed at the back). It's quite a good idea but 'CB overlap' is a bit of a misnomer, I haven't tested it to see if it gets the nominated CBT up for corners or not, which would be great if it did.
