Striker not in the box when crossing

Has anyone else noticed that whenever you break free along the wing and you cross it in the box your centre striker is never there? He always chooses his position on the end of the box not in the box. Even if i have his attacking arror forward and his defensive arrow on low.

I get so frustrated at some of the positioning. The most annoying is when my wing backs dont run ahead of my wingers, so I can't do overlaps easily.

I hate it because my wing backs are always running forward even when my opponent has the ball and just leaving space for my opponents wingers!

you can go as far as putting attacking arrows and adjusting the level of defense a player has, for wingbacks that stray forward to much i put their attacking arrow pointing back towards my own goal line, that tends to keep them back!!

if your strikers arent getting forward enough, adust their position on the pitch, pushing them further forward, that an train up their attacking stat!!

Set your Side Backs roles to CB's. That way they'll stay in position and won't bother sprinting aimlessly forward.

Yes but I need my wing backs to be attacking and get forward at the right times, but instead when my opponent has the ball around the half way line my wingbacks decide to run away from the opposing teams winger and run into the opponents half even though I dont have the ball! My opponent then passes it to his now free winger to get a good chance down the flanks with nobody marking him!

i had this problem of not having strikers in position when i cross. it is easily fixed, when you cross the ball, you need to hold the directional pad diagonally away from the goal

eg, if you are shooting from left to right on your screen, when you cross, hold diagonal up/down-left. if you are shooting to the left to right, then hold up/down-right.

this worked for me, i now score many headed goals

no nothing is wrong , i think everything is ok , its just that u must see ur radar at bootom & then cross at right time..
that wings problem can also be solved if u think by adjusting there roles & defence level to high & adjusting there positions ,
everything is fine........
excellent gameplay.......

Has anyone tested to see if setting the wing backs to CB's actually stops them from running way out of position? I haven't got a chance to yet but if it works then thanks to the poster above who may have just solved my main problem with this game!

Giving Sidebacks attacking arrows towards both bylines works for me. Another little tip regarding them is that if you stick their individual defence to high then they will stay in the centre of the field and leave your wings wide open.

As for strikers, I've found that if you play one inside the 18 yard box with a forward arrow then he will definately get into the box if you give him a bit of time.
