k I've been playing this game since version 2 and after much playing cant get pes 5 do do anything right, mainly due to the computer controlling your players for most of the game, now I know with super cancel you can gain proper control but is there a way to have this on by default? as Im loosing my patience with this game fast. its soul destroying stuff against the computer due to players running the wrong way, ball always go's back to computer when u tacklle (either bounces off ye or gos under your leg or player running into back of opponent or away from ball etc) if there is a way to turn on super cancel by default and have it on permenantly without the need to r1+r2 I'd love to hear about it. hope pes6 sorts this as its the one thing that ruining this game for me.

cheers guys

No there isn't. Without the computer making your players run, it would be a very static game and a boring, hopeless gaming experience as well. Yes, it does feel like the computer has a bit too much control sometimes, but this is simply to enhance your experience, not hijack it.

If you know how to play the game, there is not problem at all.

I have to admit it is a bit of a pain in the arse, but just dont concentrate on it and the game should be alright

Also, learn to use the Super Cancel properly. I use it without thinking in almost every move, like when receiving passes, correcting my players' running on throughballs etc. It is a very good thing to use, so make sure to use it very often.

cheers for that guys, wasnt that i dont want them to run, sometimes its fine, its just I'd prefer it if they did their run but you could override thier run without the need to actually press the super cancel i.e move the controller where ye want em to go, its my only gripe with the game as sometimes u have full controll and others you dont (the inconsistency drives me crackers) and by the time ye notice its too late or if I try to override with r1+r2 they normally spin (because u had full control) or do something random, I wish they'd put an option in to do it even just to test it as a comparison :/ ah well back to the drawing board i suppose.

thanks again lads

How do you use the super cancel? Could never figure it out in the tutorial. Do you tap R1 and R2 repeatedly? Or hold R1 and tap R2? Or neither? And in what situation is it beneficial? What is it's purpose?

Just HOLD R1 + R2. It gives you control over the player when they're running automatically; eg. to stop them chasing a ball thats going out.

Super Cancel only works if you run the player in the direction you want to go in first. Changing direction is a bit a a labor seeing as how all the players feel as heavy as loaded train cars when trying to do so. Even then, the defender/s is probably going to outrun you.

As for #1 saying he never actually wins the ball when he goes in for a tackle, that's nothing to do with super cancel or the computer controlling your player. You're either sprinting into a challenge, or timing the challenge wrong, or coming in from the wrong angle. And you have to expect the ball to sometimes come loose and return to the opponent's player sometimes, the contact made in a tackle can mean the ball sometimes goes anywhere ...

Im similar, I use Super Cancel alot and totally agree that it shouild be mastered if you want to continue to succeed on 6*.IO dont necessarily think it should be one of the first things to focus on, but once your comfortable with passing/ movement (R2 run) etc. Ar good use for Super Cancel is when Opposition players are going for a header if you time it right (just as theyre jumping)you can use the Super Cancel and push the opposition under the ball and with a quick R2 turn you're off. Also using it on the o0pposition players that are running down the wings to put them off balance can work but is a little dangerous at times but if done properly can put them off balance of even out of bounds. These are very sublte tho'.
