Yeah I don't know why so many people complain about this. In a ML season I probably get sent off once... MAYBE twice and that's either because the AI tackles someone for me or because I intentionally take someone down to prevent a 1-1 situation.

I'm not sure how people manage to get sent off 2 or 3 times per GAME, its pretty bizarre.

Yeah same with me, I hardly ever get these automatic tackles....maybe cuz I hardly ever use the pressing square pressure thing

those referee's are awful they give away cards all the time and sometimes they book you 4 a gd challenge, automatic tackles r helpful but can be annoying, once i was playing my mate and its tackled istelf and i had my player sent off when he din't really deserve to, automatic tackles are helpful but they can be quite a liability

I don't have an issue with the tackling on pro evo now, it just takes some getting used to to learn the limitations. And i'm a Fifa man now so that doesn't make a difference.

I have noticed that I am getting a few red cards for tackles that were clearly not deserving of a straight red. But in all fairness I think PES has improved its tackling. You get make more tackles at smaller spaces and the AI tackling is realistic. I guess some refs in the game are just anal about tackling. Usually I get carded for using square for extra pressure. The only other time I get carded is if I forget to change the settting for auto switching players. PES likes to switch the control of my player right before I tackle.

I think there are different ref personalities... some refs are more lenient than others. You tend to figure out pretty quickly which one will let you get away with some stuff and which ones don't.

I do wish there was a setting where I could tell my AI guys to NEVER attempt a slide tackle.

I also never use the pressure button... I find that for the most part it puts me out of position... I rather use the pressure strategy if anything.

You cant possibly say you think that the whole ref system works well. I could show you loads of footage of players making legit tackles that are followed by a red or yellow card. Its ridiculous.

both of you are right, but some refs let blatant fouls play on and some stop everything. its realistic, "human error" on a game. I don't like it either cus it costs me games but I think its a sacrifice for the realness of the game. Just like how some players with great dribbling skill fumble the ball randomly

It's all so much worse on BAL where you're the one who's by far the most reliable defender.

I hate the tackles where they run into my backside, fall down and they get the free kick. The dive button is about as useful as a ps3

^Diving is all about timing and using it in the right situations^

I find they work best when you're through on goal but have a defender or two behind you - and most importantly the ref has to be behind play looking at the defenders backside. I've won quite a few this way - I tend to dive with Walcott and Lennon and similar players. They're too frail to hold players off, so any shot is rubbish and you can't slow up or they'll be bashed off the ball. Generally if you time it right you have a 20% chance of a pen or getting away with just falling over (i.e. no foul and booking).

If it's Ibrahimovic that's clean through, you just shoot and score instead!

don't see how this is much of an issue, Personally I felt tackling was a strong feature of the pes series and in comparison to fifa it it much better.
