cm03/04 is a better managment game for people who are dedicated to playing the game. tcm2004 is for the beginner of footy manager games. Whats better, tcm2004 or the coming LMA 2004?

championship manager = for serious stat-loving football fans
tcm = for fun football fans who like to build their stadiums and choose how much the hot dogs cost

both great in my opinion :)

Don't buy it, stats are terrible. Every player is overrated.

Basic knowledge is wrong, i.e, there is a special ability called wonderkid, where you must be Brazilian, have 1+speed and something else, Cristiano Ronaldo has the wonderkid skill eventhough he's not Brazilian.

Also, for some reason, the transfer window is open from the start of the season to the end of January.

There are barely any options for changing your team formation.

The game takes ages to load and save.

I don't think players are overrated. And the patch improves/decreases the stats of any underrated/overrated player.

C. Ronaldo probably has the "Wonderkid" ability because he has dual nationality - Portuguese/Brazilian.

The transfer window is open at the correct times in my game and it takes about 20 secs to load and save.

And there are no more possible formations I can think of that you can't implement in the game.

Are you playing on PC or PS2?

i rented it from blockbusters & i thought it was pretty dire. the only thing i liked was building up all the club facilities & editing the stadium. LMA is the only management game out there which could possibly challenge CM. if CM had a stadium editor in it, i would love it! even more! :D

used to love it but the unrealistic scorelines and lack of decent stats and realistic values made me get bored of it.

novelty wears off but quality doesnt :D

mind you the stadium editor still kicks arse

My brother's got the PS2 version and I can't stand it. Stupid transfers fess...and what's the deal with the transfer negotiation? It reminds me of a very old game (possibly Theme Park) where to hands would be at either side of the screen and you had to get them to match to do a deal...

LMA manager is still kinda poor but much better than TCM. If you have a PC though then get CM03/04...or if that's too much for your PC to take then get CM01/02 and download the patch that lets you start at the 03/04 season.

This topic has got my memory jogging. Does anyone remember Ultimate Soccer Manager on the Amiga? I loved that so much, it even had a 2D pitch which has taken Championship Manager nearly 10 years to implement. Come to think of the Amiga was great - SWOS, Cannon Fodder, Beneath A Steal Sky, Zac...ahhh those were the days.
