I tried that last night. 3 defenders charged for the same ball leaving both their strikers completely open. I also managed to throw the ball (as the keeper) straight to an attacker but won it back when he tried to round me. I was quite calm at the back until that moment.

Last night I think we peaked too early... the first two where we scared the opposition into submission and the following three where we bagged fifteen goals were some excellent performances.
The horrendous match that we lost 10 - 6 (was it?) and Barn had joined us to take up the position of Left Attacking Headless Chicken, doesn't seem to have recorded:

I've already accepted the request, you idiot.
We were unlucky with opponents last night as we came up against a team who are 5th in the world then straight after a team who were not too much lower. I had a feeling we'd get pummeled in the game against skypes6 as I remember getting thrashed by them before, same with clockworkorange I believe.

Barndoor, is there any way of putting your VP on the bench when you are playing with the team? If only we could have an american football style system where your guy only comes on for set-pieces.
I should be on for a bit tonight. Best not stick me on ANY unless most people have gone offline and we really have no other option.
RAM is doing my nut a little bit - I'm expected to track back stupidly far according to the game yet the moment we launch a counter-attack I get raped by position penalties. If I haven't tracked back, I've already been hit with numerous position penalties. Shit happens I suppose.

Talking of penalties, I think we'll take the Italians off them for a while and keep with the Phatmann's terrific penalty taking abilities.
If I get another penalty - I'm taking it. I'm not so sure I'm scoring it though.

Not only did you miss the penalty, you missed the rebound too! The keeper seemed to go a bit early as well.

I resent that wholeheartedly, to the point of telling you to go fuck yourself. I scored two goals last night, a ton for the team overall, look at the assists, many come from my VP. Aside from his pace, there is no real part of his game lacking - crossing, passing, finishing, long shots, strength, standing tackling, heading. Unfortunately, EA made it so that pace kills all in this game. 75% accomplishments may I add. I bet if my VP had a few of the chances certain forward players get he'd put them away.
I admit I am not great on a single position, but McCrevasses does a lot on ANY, he always crops up.
And lets be honest, the defending in the 9-6 was fucking abominable, so if you're trying to insinuate my guy had something to do with those losses, fuck off.

Pace doesn't kill all in this game, if a smaller player goes too close to a defender he's losing the ball as he gets eased off it or elbowed in the face! If you play to a players strengths the game is pretty balanced. The problem yesterday was that you roamed far too much, taking space away from myself and Sweey and distorting the shape.
As for your claims regarding goals, assists and finishing. Let's not get quippy. Remember that goal totals are for te user not the VP, hence people who play as ANY will have all the goals scored by their VP and the other players they score with. As for a pop about (I presume) my finishing... please feel free to catch me up and provide the square option. In addition, finishing does tend to be easier when your moving a sloth-like speeds... :Tongue:
As for defending my finishing... I'm not going to, I do miss chances I should score, but who doesn't? I get a lot of chances and I'm never going to take 100%. What I do is score on average over a goal a game when playing up front... which includes my sixty odd games at CF. If people aren't happy with my finishing I'll drop back. I might add that I netted around 16 times last night...
