Red, if/when you're going to play in the front three (especially when Barn is on) make your VP under 6ft so he can run faster. Two target men will be a severe problem against some sides. It was alright for the (or two?) matches so far but I can see it going completely wrong.

Some of the games I played it was almost as though we were a sack of shit until 3-0 down or so and would then fight back and deserve at least a draw but lose the game by one goal.

It probably doesn't help when the 'winger' played too defensively, and doesn't check to see any potential messages.. :unsure:
One of two of those one goal losses were very much winnable or at least drawable which made them a whole lot worse to take.
On a different note, my connection was better for some of the games last night, with only a few mins each time being very laggy.

It was a catch 22 - you were coming back so we couldn't get forward but then you'd have felt you needed to be staying back to cover the attacks coming at us down that side. Nevermind. I know I sometimes struggle a bit when switching position from one game to the next.

Also, what was the story with that match. I was left attacking midfield at the start, but then the second half I started on the right hand side? Was that supposed to happen or what?
Sometimes I can hear you guys on headset but other times its silent and there are times when it might as well be white noise.

We changed formation from 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-2-1 at half-time but the captain can't move the players around where he wants them so you just have to adapt - but you get no indication the formation was changed other than the arrow telling you to get the f over the other side of the pitch. That's something they need to fix for FIFA 11 and clearly overlooked so they can include it as an improvement.

I don't mind that 4-2-3-1 formation, now that I'm more clear on the duties I'm supposed to be undertaking on the side. But, whatever the majority like, I'm willing to go with as I don't really have any preferences. I like playing LF at times, probably due to the fact that if I mess up, it's less likely to cause a goal against us.

I'm really not enjoying this anymore. It isn't entirely to do with Original? leaving - after all, when he wasn't on we still did well but with a different attacking dynamic.
Something is fundamentally wrong in attack - when I'm playing at least. Maybe we're all struggling for form, I'm not sure.
Personally I don't think we're playing the ball quickly enough in attack, we're lacking vision and the decision-making is inconsistent. Instead of constantly passing it to the one, marked striker ahead who is a target man and can't constantly bundle his way through two defenders, why not look for a sideways pass to the player unmarked and able to change the angle or hold the ball up? No point losing possession needlessly as we're all aware that the CPU positions our defenders in such a way that we're always in trouble on counter-attacks.
In all honesty, I nearly quit in one game last night where I spent the whole of it getting ignored despite being in wide open spaces. Everything went to the left where we were constantly crowded out because even the opposition knew what we were going to do.
It doesn't help that we didn't deserve to lose all but one of those games last night and its what, the third night in succession we've lost a lot of games and genuinely been unlucky? That's no fun for anyone.
It might also be worth playing with two strikers even when Barn is on as he sometimes has nobody to knock the ball down to and that would at least mean he's got one man who should be close to him at all times. It doesn't prevent us crossing to him if we play 4-2-2-2 - the same goes for 4-2-3-1 but the CF has to make constant runs beyond the ST.

I felt you were really unlucky last night Sweey. I lost count of the amount of times you hit the post or crossbar which would really piss anybody off.
When it comes to quick offloading, it seems my player can't. Even when I press X before it gets to me, he still has to take a touch for whatever reason.
I don't really agree with this part, however. I felt that with the three up there we can take turns, and did if my memory serves me correctly, running off Barn for the knock down. When this happens it's really up to the other winger to make a different run off that person as there is usually a defender straight on you after the knock down.
The reason why I'm not enjoying it as much as the beginning is the fact that most teams play a stupid unrealistic formation which fucks the whole thing up, as we play a proper one. This gives them a much greater advantage for different things, their defence is usually really deep and it's harder to get in behind etc...

Christ! I remember that game. That was probably the worst half I've ever had. I was playing well in the first half, but just before half time I missed an open goal and they scored from the next attack. If I had scored it would've been 3-0 and game over. Second half came and every time I received I would immediately concede it and they would score. We went down to 3-2, but then I finally did something good; I assisted a goal to make it 3-3. But then, I gave the ball away and it was 4-3 to them. I was responsible for all four goals in one way or another.
Had probably the best game of my Club career last night - 1 goal and 5 assists in our 7-4 win. At least three of those assists were finished by BarnDoor but could've been all five.
Highlights were my assist for the third goal (as the ball dropped down I played a first-time through ball between two defenders into Barn's path) and one of the last where running away from the penalty area I crossed back into the area at about 310 degrees to the direction I was running in for Barn to head home. Blowing my own trumpet but I don't care :happy:
No offence to Four_Kicks but it felt much more fluid with Fab and Barn both alongside me in attack and I know its fluid with Phats as well. Personally I think you play best in midfield but I know you don't enjoy it there as much.
I'll be back to being rubbish again this evening.
