Yeah, you've got to be smarter with corners. Most of the time, the GK will look to go to the penalty spot to collect the ball. Front & back posts, or to the perimeter of box will be the best bets. You could even do what I did and score directly from the corner. :smug:

I always forget that I can do things like that as captain though, I don't know why. Probably because I think that i'm just another member of the team, not the manager, like in manager mode or whatever.
Seems like the Ultra defensive thing on the D-pad counts for fuck all anyway. And neither does the amount of CPU defenders, be it 3 or 4, that we have. If there's 2+ human attackers and they get through the midfield, 8 times out of 10 they will score because the CPU defenders just aren't good enough.
I need to spend some time looking into making a CB/CAM meld of a character, someone that can keep the pace with attackers when playing as CB, and that isn't totally useless with the ball when playing as a CAM. This way I can still keep playing with a decent VP, and still be able to switch between positions as and when needed.

They really need to sort out penalties in this game as I don't know how that tackle in the last few minutes of the last game was a pen. I clearly won the ball and the player didn't even go down yet because I might have slightly nudged him before getting the ball it's a penalty. That's not how it works EA you muppets! The red card for Andy was a little harsh as I had a player there ready to mop up but it was nowhere near as harsh as the red their player got later in the game. I put in some strong challenges and I haven't seen a red card for weeks yet this ref gives out two in one game.

Guessing mine was a professional foul. Thought I might get away with a yellow. Pretty much killed us that game as only 15 minutes had passed. Ref did seem stupidly harsh though, as there was a few yellows as well as the 2 reds.
I feel for you Mike. Those randomly generated teammates you control when ANY are terrible. I tried to control on the turn with a CB, ball travelled over half the width of the pitch.
