What's the difference between 4-1-2-1-2 and 4-3-1-2? Whoever plays DMF plays like a CM anyway and that's the only position change in the formations.

I meant the 4-4-2 diamond formation. It might be down as 4-4-2(2) or something similar.

From a personal point of view, I normally play on the right of the midfield 2 in the 4-1-2-1-2, which means I tend to have to act as a winger at times, which doesn't really suit my VP - I'm happy to do it for the team, but I'd much rather be trying to get on the end of crosses, rather than putting them in myself. For some reason, in 4-3-1-2, this doesn't happen as much (I think the midfield 3 are pushed back a bit more than the midfield 2 in the other formation). Anyway, that's just my take on it.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the midfield in a 4-1-2-1-2 is:

DMF
RCM - LCM
AMF

And the midfield in a 4-3-1-2:

RCM - CM - LCM
AMF

?

I have a personal preference for playing up top on my own, but I understand the selfishness in this belief and am happy to play with a fellow striker.

Ok.

Does xlivix come onto this forum?

I don't blame you, Barn. I'm kinda always stealing passes from you.

It's not that, it's just it can get a bit hectic sometime in the central areas, and if there's too many in the box with assisted crossing it's not always likely to go to me (again not a selfish thing, of course I like scoring goals but it makes sense given that I'm obviously our biggest aerial threat).

I quite like playing behind a front two, because I like to have as many players ahead of me as possible, when I have the ball. Also, if, for example, it's Barn and Joel playing in front of me, I have the choice of an aerial ball to Barn or a through the ball to Joel, who can get into good positions using his pace. So, as a midfielder, two strikers give me a bit more choice.

I see what you mean, Barn. It can get a bit hectic in the box at time. It's why I like to drop off on the right wing to whip a cross in.

Speaking about that, it seems my left footed cross is going right to the back post now, so expect that whenever I cut back onto my left.

My runs last night were awful though. Just poor timing. If I'm on tonight, I hope to improve that.

Problem though is that with the passing in this game (at least on assisted) you (everyone I mean) can end up playing a nothing ball between the two men rather than one or the other.

I prefer it when barn doesn't play because then our opponents only laugh at how shit we play and not at how hideously deformed his vp is when he gets a close up!

Is Barn's VP supposed to look like a retarded David Haye?

What time are people gonna be on tonight?

Or you can play a simple pass to someone, but they decide to run away from the ball, meaning you get marked down for misplacing a pass. Annoying. Im sure lag has something to do with it, but it really pisses me off to no end.

I quite enjoyed playing CB the other night, I thought I did quite well. Beats having retarded CPU players controlling the defence. I also think it's useful to have a calm passer at the back aswell. This helps when people are mashing the pass button which results in retarded long balls; something, coincidentally, that we as a team have cut out a lot, so kudos to us.

My VP will be staying as a CB for a while.

You did well at CB, Dale. In fact, I think all our players who played as defenders did well last night. Haribo was his usual reliable self at RB and Dragonfly did very well at LB. I definitely prefer to have human players playing in defence - don't really trust the CPU defenders and, as you say, their distribution is particularly poor.

Yeah Haribo was solid man, I liked having someone alongside me to pass to. I think i'd rather play LCB though, to spread the human cover around the defence a bit.

I think we could do well with 3 at the back aswell, providing the DMF did their job properly.
