I can just imagine Dundon's chuckling away like Mickey Doyle all this time he was using us

As Doyle will get what's coming to, so will Dundon's in due course. Potatoes are fickle things you know.

That last game was silly. They basically had one tactic: give it to a quick guy and then square it for a sweaty goal. And it worked. Quality chip by Haribo though and I was quite pleased with my goal (although I should've been tackled several times before I got that far).

Now I have a question: are the teams we're playing getting better or are we just getting worse?

Team we played wasn't that great, tbh. We could have and should have scored more than the one.

Tbf I thought we played quite well against Sweaty Goals United, but the CPU just fucked up and they were able to pull off their signature move multiple times.

We're definitely shit at the minute, devoid of all confidence. I think we actually dominated those last two games I played in, but it broke down in the final third. Here's my thoughts from the front:

1) Crossing has to increase and improve. Some areas for consideration:

- Maybe people have manual power and aiming settings switched on.
- Remember to hold L1 when doing an 'early' cross
- Don't wait until you get to the byline to cross
- If you think it might be blocked, try and cut back on to the weaker foot to cross.
- If you're taking corners and aiming for me, try to get it higher than the near post.

It's just frustrating when I'm as tall as I am and I don't think we're exploiting it enough. Unfortunately that one game where I got two headers on target they had a fucking ridiculously good goalkeeper making Banks-esque stops, but it won't always be that way.

2) We're all guilty of holding onto the ball for too long and losing it. We need to distribute it quicker. At the same time however, if you have some time, don't just try and get rid of it straight away if the pass isn't on.

3) The passing is often poor. I think it comes down to decision making, maybe trying to go for the complex when the simpler pass is on offer. I'm guilty of this sometimes with my chipped through balls to try and get people in behind but ground through balls are often cut out.

4) Related to bad passing is that we often group together a lot and run after the ball, losing discipline and our shape. We know that the game does that annoying thing where, if there are two options close together, the pass will go somewhere in between. Therefore it is better to try and keep our distance from one another.

5) When I'm up front do bear in mind that I have no pace, so unless the pass is absolutely on think about whether you really want to play a ball that will get me in behind the defence which requires me chasing after the ball.

On the passing note, I feel we need to just pass to what we see. We're trying through passes too much, when normal passes work just as well. What we need to do is pass and move, pass and move. Eventually, spaces will open.

Like the Liverpool Groove?

Point 4) that Barn made is completely right. We need to spread out and expand the pitch as much as possible, which will lead to space opening in the final 3rd.

Barn's made some good points there. I know I'm especially culpable for 2 and 3, so I'll continue to try and work on those. I'd also like to say that I think with the passing, it's important that we try and put ourselves in decent positions to receive the ball, as that makes the passer's job much easier.

I think if we spaced out more that would be possible. A lot of those points tend to factor into one another.

I felt the very same when I was playing for you, it was madness and very frustrating seeing the ball getting given away so easily and cheaply. I was trying to play the simple game but would never get a simple return 1-2 pass back, instead it was getting launched into orbit.

One more thing that kills the team is when playing with 5-6 people everyone called for the ball relentlessly even when they were in no position to receive any kind of pass. This means that the CPU player get confused and start trying to pass 40 yard balls on the turn and on their weaker foot.

Good to see you're maturing up as a side though.

You can fuck off, you invalidated your opinion the moment you jumped ship. You weren't exactly a shining beacon of amazing talent you fucker.

I'd like to try playing upfront once in a while. I used to always play striker on previous VP's, and I believe I will be quite good when prevented with a chance to score. My VP as a CAM (which was what he originally was, before the position became somewhat....rammed to fuck) was quite good at shooting so I might be good upfront. Plus I don't believe i've played stiker for this team yet.

Original?

Just a quick note, I haven't died, I just get my internet from TalkTalk meaning it has taken around 3 weeks to get internet in my new apartment. From the recent posts it doesn't seem all is well?

Looking forward to getting back online as Fifa is rubbish offline.

We've lost a lot of games recently. Even though the above points are all valid, we have played some decent teams who have 6000+ points. And as expected, they all feature a pacy front man with a coloured afro.
