4-1 in my first derby game. Took me 20 minutes to realise we were actually playing the scum.

Not bad for a return from a long absence.


I must say, Phats, your goal in that 4-1 game was an absolute belter. Nigel De Jong-esque.

Also, my players passing has gone to shit, for some reason. Maybe it's because I haven't played fifa in about 4 months, but still. Seemed very slow to what he normally is.

There were times last night when I was hammering pass and it just wouldn't pass till too late. Really annoying especially when on the counter!

No wonder they don't turn up 'til after Barn is gone because when he is there they get destroyed. It looked like we were going to struggle again but with an ANY we finally managed to keep the ball somewhat.

Decent enough performances for those of us who turned up last night, right Phats?

Except the last game of course, when our CPU started by standing deadly still as the opposition waltzed past them (it continued in that vein) whilst theirs won every single 50-50 and put in some rather special passing I didn't even know the CPU was capable of producing. We only lost 1-0 despite all that.

It was frustrating because I'd try to use my pace to get past them but they'd just match me then muscle me off the ball. I wish our CPU players did that! I still don't know how the randomly generated players work as in previous games you were able to see their overall stats.

It was frustrating because I'd try to use my pace to get past them but they'd just match me then muscle me off the ball. I wish our CPU players did that! I still don't know how the randomly generated players work as in previous games you were able to see their overall stats.

In the first five mintues both you and I had been bundled off the ball almost as though we didn't exist. That plus the AI defence looking around wondering what the spherical object that an opponent whizzed past them with told me everything I needed to know about what would happen in the game.

I spent most of it playing as a fast version of Pirlo - the goal ultimately came late on as I'd run out of stamina so had to steer clear of R1 for fear of pulling up, lost the ball in midfield and watched on as the defence did nothing to stop the attack.

Anyway, assuming Lazio-Milan isn't called off I won't be on until 9:30 or 9:45 tonight and will only stay until about 11.

Were the games last night any good? I only played in 3 I think. Scored 2 good goals as well. I was wary of playing my guy CM because of how lightweight he is, but I did well there I think, might play there more often.

We seriously need to work on our through balls man, in the three games I played, around 20% were good passes. If there are too many defenders around, just play a regular pass, more often than not the other team will just intercept it. This is strengthened by the fact that when playing with my character, i've found that Interceptions is the most easy skill to level up, so I assume that a lot of people in the game will have high interception skill.

I like how I nudged Barn out of the way to get the rebound. He then proceeds to try to rape me, which EA were kind enough to censor.

Yeah, I had the second consecutive clean sheet in sight, then all of a sudden they had an extra man over.

Had to close the ball down, although I didn't get there to stop the cross and it was a fairly unmarked header in the end. He did nothing the rest of the game, either.

Forgot how much fun clubs was, even if as a centre-back I am massively disconnected from the rest of you guys further forward (not so much yourself, more thinking Haribo, BarnDoor and Phats here). Would be cool to have a full back-four online together.

What we need to work on is the type of through ball for a situation. Sometimes the aerial one is the only option but the ground one is played and intercepted with ease. The aerial ball runs a fine line between good decision and abomination so it can be tough to decide upon in a split second.

Thought you did fine in the games you played. You ended up a tad isolated in one of them when you were on left wing as I/we were religiously attacking down the right due to the opposition struggling but you did score in that one anyway and it can happen on either wing.

If in doubt I usually go with the chipped through ball, because at the very least you might be able to cause problems for the defender, at least force him to make a hasty clearance and avoid the quick counter.

Good games though overall. Rather embarassed though Andy outscored me by two in the four games we played...5 goals I think he scored, which must be unheralded. Mind you, I only have myself to blame for setting him up in that 4-1 game.
