Haha, don't worry mate, I'll make sure Archie G gets a mention for that goal against the Dutch. You will love Scotland, Law and Daglish are deadly.
Great review of Peru
I'm excited for this file.
I think it will be hard to create a world cup without Colombia (Higuita and Valderrama, two of my favourite players) and Cameroon for me... But I'll do my best.![]()
It will be a couple of weeks before I create any more teams mate... I am gonna take a break after these next 3 teams are done, and actually play some PES Matches.
If the response to the file is more than I hope then I may create another 8 squads and then that will be a full 32 Nations done

Hello PESheads, today we`ve flown back to Europe so with a strong cup of coffee and terrible jet-lag lets take a look at another of my favourite nations;
AUSTRIA (Das Team,Burschen,Unsere Burschen)
Austria unfortunatley isn’t a nation of successes, When it comes to winning major tournaments they have been greatly overshadowed by their neighbours Germany though if it hadnt been for the Nazi occupation thing could have been so very different.
There history hasn't been short of its moments of controversy though, From Hitler reportedly anulling Perus suprise win against them in the olympic games, to the infamous final group match against West Germany which saw both nations play out the 1-0 scoreline which they knew would send them both through and send Algeria on the plane home.
Where did it all start ?
Well in 1904 the Austrian Football asscociation was founded and was part of the Astro-Hungarian empire , they achieved great success during the 30s and earned the nickname "Wunderteam" whilst playing under coach Hugo Meisel.
Their star player during that era was Matthias Sindelar "Der papierene" or "paper man" because of his slight build. He ws a fast dribbling, creative centre forward ,he anoted 26 goals in 43 appearences also captaining the side in the 1934 World Cup. In 1999 he was voted the greatest Austrian footballer of the 20th century. His life though unfortunatly ended in tragedy when on the 23rd of January 1939 he was found dead in his apartment in Vienna alonside his girfriend. The oficial verdict was that he had died from carbon monoxide poisoning . Some think it was suicide others an accident while many think that it was a hit by the Gestapo. Over 40,000 people were said to have attended his funeral. Truly a national hero.
In the 1934 world cup in Italy they finished 4th losing in the semis to hosts and eventual champions. The 3rd place game was against the Germans who ran out 3-2 winners.
The Austrians then qualified for the 1938 finals in France, because the country was ruled by the Nazis the Austrian football association was abolished, consequently their withdrawal paved the way for Germany to take their place.
POST WAR
After the second world war the Austrians were once again seperated from Germany, in the 1954 World Cup with the likes of Ernst happel and Ernst Ocwirk they manged to record their best ever result beating the defending champions Uruguay 3-1.
This was to be the last time they would reach the latter rounds of a major tournament. The 58 finals were dissapointing and didnt participate in Chile 62 due to financial problems.
20 YEARS LATER
In 1978 the World Cup was hosted in Argentina and the Austrians had made it , they didn't get off to the greatest of starts losing their first two group games. They did manage restore some national pride in their final group game against big rivals Germany a brace from Hans Krankl helped seal a 3-2 win. That result made all the sweeter denying the reigning champions a shot at third place The gamewent onto be known as "wunder von Cordoba" The miracle of Cordoba.
The 82 world cup in Spain the world witnessed one of the most controversial matches to ever take place, Austria met Germany in the last group game knowing a 1-0 result would mean classification to the next round for both nations sending Algeria out of the tournament. After Germanys Horst Hrubesch scored in the 10th minute the sides played out the remainder of the game passing the ball around amongst them and barely made any attempt to score for the remaining 80 minutes. This game became known as the non-agression pact of Gijón. Hans Krankl has always dismissed that there were any agreement between the teams (not buying that). Since then all final group games are played simultaneously.
Austria made it through to the next group round where they played France and Northern Ireland and thats where their tournament ended with France going through to the quarter finals.
Since then the Austrians have really struggled to make any impact at major tournaments, with dissapointing showings at Italia 90, France 98 and although widley tipped as dark horses to win the 2016 euros they once again failed to deliver. Slowly they are rebuilding and there are positive signs but they still have a long way to go to emulate the great teams of the 30s and 70s.
Now lets look at them ingame.
Love playing with these guys, their non-stop movement and elegance on the ball make them so rewarding to play with. The front three are a nightmare for anyone. Going up against the so called big boys is a great challenge. I've learnt so much about their history while writing this and come away with a mixture of both joy and sadness after learning about the hard times the players had gone through.
Star Player= Matthias Sindelar "Paper man" what a player, after learning about his life i even feel a bit of sadness for the guy. A true man who stuck to his principles right until the end. Very quick and skillfull hes a joy to play with. https://youtu.be/PZUpQcwj-MU please check out this video, sorry it's in Spanish but it has some great footage of the great man.
Flair Player=Ernst Stojaspal, can play as a forward or attacking midfielder very skillfull on the ball and has a great shot.
Impact Player= Han Krankl often starts for me on the bench mainly beacause the trio of Sindelar, Stojaspal and Bican work so good together. Great to bring on when tirdeness sets in or in need of a goal.
Suprise Player=Karl Sesta, great speedy left back who loves to bomb up and down the channel , as good in the tackle as he is whipping in crosses. Represented both Austria and Germany at international level.
Personal favourte=Now this is a close one between Bican and Smistik. Bican is awesome finsher and very quick while Smistik sits in midfield pinging the ball round the park effortlessley. Both are great but Smistik just edges it.
Strenghs= Very mobile team, solid allround, as strong in the tackle as in front of goal.
Weaknesses= Can get overun in midfield at times, can be troubled at the back when confontted with pace.
Conclusion=Now this may come as a suprise to you all but these guys are my second favorite team, i love their movemernt, their flair, their determination plus going up againt the likes of Brazil and Germany is a great challenge.
I've left some links to videos be sure to check them out.

Next up.......Mexico
Great review, I really didn't know about that history about the "non-aggression pact of Gijón"... Very interesting stuff
Thanks mate. Have a look into the life of Matthias Sindeler aswell, really sad .

That's an accusation made up by Peruvians that has never been proven by anyone. Why should Hitler (who didn't even like football) have done that? The fact is that Peruvian fans went on the pitch while the match was still running, the Austrians protested against that and then the IOC decided that there should be a replay that the Peruvians didn't want to play. Not everything that happened in the 1930s in Germany had something to with Hitler..There history hasn't been short of its moments of controversy though, From Hitler reportedly anulling Perus suprise win against them in the olympic games
You don't fancy expanding it to 128 teams to give Scotland a chance to qualify for a change![]()
Cool stuf man!
Good. And yes, you need a break, those squads are perfect and I know it's too much work. Go play a bit
Now about the video of goals and highlights:
I decided to divide the video in 2 parts, part 1 will be my matches controlling Portugal and part 2 of my matches controlling France.
The first part is ready. I still need to edit the second part.
Enjoy![]()
Thanks mate. Have a look into the life of Matthias Sindeler aswell, really sad .
Excellent face for Vukas
Btw, any particular reason why you left out Velibor Vasovic?
This is no critic towards your squad, just asking as he's IMO the finest defender the country ever produced![]()
LOL... I think you will be pleasantly surprised when you play with Scotland... they can certainly compete with the best of the best
Can't wait, just hope you haven't put in the 'SFA factor' into team spirit. This is the organisation that when ordering the team strips prior to the 1954 World Cup thought 'Switzerland, that place with all the snow & skiing?' and promptly ordered thick woollen strips to keep the players warm. Cue Scotland playing Uruguay in 90 degree heat at altitudeNeedless to say the team were papped oot after a 7-0 gubbing & back on the plane home before the gallons of sweat on their brand new wooly strips had time to dry
