Technique for scoring from the half way line

I once posted here a short version of my technique and I felt it wasn't good enough. I wanted to share it with because it's freaking awesome and quite easy.

OK so here it is:

First of all, you need to know that it won't work right away. I managed to "master" this after a lot of practice and many tries. So this is how it goes:

1. You need to keep track of the keeper on the little raddar at the bottom. You need to pass the ball around at your half for sometime untill you see that the keeper is on the edge of the box.

2. When you see that the keeper's position is right, start moving with a player towards the half way line. If you are with a left- footed player, try moving diagonaly to the left, and as so to right- footed.

NOTE 1: You need to go to the center of the line, not on the sides or anything.

NOTE 2: This works a lot better after clearing a corner- when there is a corner given to the opposite team, and you clear the ball, quickly collect it and do as following.

3. When you reach about two meters or less it's time to preform the kick.

First- don't let go of (the running button) untill you realese the ball.

than you need to hold the button (the button where you stop the ball facing the goal with) pressed, and then press (cross button), and don't let go of the button.

This should bring the ball high up and above the keeper.

NOTE 1: It is important that you don't over pass the half way line. once you go past it the keeper will return to his goal and it won't work. try shooting from about a meter or so from the line.

NOTE 2: Not all of the players can do this. It works with high rated passing players (for example, in Chelsea- Ballack, A. Cole, Lampard, Deco, Drogba, Carvalho). So, if the ball comes short of the goal, maybe you didn't do it right or try changing players.

NOTE 2: At first, when you kick it, the keeper will actualy punch the ball into his own goal and it will count as an own goal. But after you can score regulary with this, the player will kick the ball over the keeper without touching him.

Now you're ready to score from the half way line!

The most important thing is to practice and don't give up when you can't seem to get a hold of it. I did it after about 5- 10 tries and believe me it's worth waiting this much to look at your friends face when you score...

I've thought of this all by my self with a bit help from this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aD7KfjxZ4ak

NOTE: Now that I searched Youtube for the video I found some other techniques, maybe I'll try them out.

Sorry if this was too long but I wanted to explain every step of it.

Have fun!

Good post mate, your full of good little ideas like this. The throw in thing now this, will be sure to try it out. It was always easy to score these in 08. More difficult nowadays.

Yup. Just tried it to the letter as Alon said. It is imperative that you move to a 45 degree angle before you shoot, otherwise you won't get the distance. It works most effectively when you rob the ball off the opposition just in front of the half way line, as the keeper will be off his line. until you get the hang of it, the keeper will tip it into his net a few times.

Good post Alon

Just scored one with carrick. That trick is so good i think professional pes players should use it if the situation is right in the match. fantastic!!

I've found taking a right footed player, just to the left of the centre cirle roughly a meter from the centre line.. full power and press R2 for a high lofted ball seems to work the best.

Scored like this as my 5th goal in a 6-0 drubbing of a friend that said he would "smash me at pes". The look on his face will stay with me forever! :D

I seem to have a problem and i was wondering if you/anyone could help me out. I followed your steps as far as i know and the problem is that it always seems to go wide right (ive been trying using lampard and gerrard) This is how ive been doing it:
-dribble diagonally towards the middle
-release the Left Stick as the ball leaves the players foot during the dribble
-press and hold the right trigger and the long pass button

Every single time it goes wide right, and when i try using the left stick to aim it straight, it goes a little short and the keeper can jump and grab it. am i not supposed to release the left stick before shooting? Should i be pointing it a certain direction to aim the shot? How do i get it on target? I appreciate any and all help u can offer me =D.

I think the part im unclear on also is the part where you say "First- don't let go of (the running button) untill you realese the ball." Im not sure when exactly to let go of the left stick and how/when i should be aiming the shot so that it stops going wide to the right. Thanks

I guess you can hold the :R1: button untill it goes in/ something else happens.

When I do it, I aim my shot with left stick. I simply push it towards the goal. Tell me, how wide does the shot go? Closer to the corner flag, or closer to the post?

About the ball coming short, it happens someties, especially when you're using a shity player. The only reason I can think of are:
1. You're nor running full speed.
2. You're shooting too far from the half way line. Try shooting as close as you get, without passing the line.
3. You're shooting with your weak foot.
4. You're running straight forward and not diagonally.
5. You approach the line as if you're shooting with your weak foot.

Further than I'm afraid I can't help you...

Just practice it alot. If I managed to do this without any guides, I think you could do it with a well written guide that was made by the best PES player in the world that supports the best team in the world.

I just think that it is a little to easy when you've done it a couple of times - as the AI makes the keeper go to far out several times during a match..
