i have the same problem i dont know how to chose the cap of the team but i think that its on the oldest player in the team

Guys, you dont have to have the oldest player being the captain of your team. Look at Fabregas at Arsenal for a prime example!
Your captain should be someone who has good leadership skills, good mentality and good stamina.
This is so he can play the most games (stamina), and not give in when the going gets tough (thats where Mentality comes in useful).

As far as I am aware, the choice of captain has had no bearing for the last few iterations of the PES franchise. Certainly any perceivable increase in team performance/stats due to such a feature would directly oppose Konami's wonderful scripting.
I do hope however that it becomes, once again, a feature of team selection as it does add an extra, real world, element.

No Seabass just talked about wanting to implement it in the future. I just pick the one with highest mentality and if it's even then I use team work as the tie breaker. Sometimes I just give it to my fav player on the team it doesn't really matter at all
I Agree that the captain should be the one with the highest Mentality, Teamwork, Stamina and also age because he would be more experienced.

I think that's true, konami should have an average system like
Avg. Def stats
Avg. Mid stats
Avg. Forwards stats
and when u choose a good captain it raises a bit of that depending of the captains' position... like a Captain that is a defender would raise the
Average Def Stats a bit... and so on.
This is from experience and did a sort of a mini experiment. Depending on the kind of captain you pick determines what kinda game you play.
I came to realize depending the checks your captain has on special abilities and generally what kind of player he is, your team is more likely to play his style of game.
I.E if i pick a player like Ribery (he has a check in playmaking, which is described as when he has the ball, players around him will be more attentive to making runs,etc. and he quick and agile) as captain my team moves more quicker, quick touches to cut an opponent are much better and movements are generally better. A higher tempo game, not great defensively but they close down faster
If i pick a player like Javier Zanetti as captain, my team usually takes their time and movements wont be as fast but i'm better defensively.
My 2 cents. Hopefully it works for ya

It doesn't affect the team at all. You can choose a 17-year old or a 34 year old player. In BAL mode i've been captain for many games as i pushed the captain of the team. i was 21 years old and even with my lack of rutine and team work stats we became top in the league.
But to make it more realistic (playing ML or leagues in general) i usually choose one of the players with the highest ability in team work stamina and condition. Are two players equal, I choose the one playing a position where i "know" i won't substitute that much. I almost never choose a striker as captain. (I know there are examples of this - Del p, Tamudo etc.)
