The biggest disappointment of PES5 Online.

For me the biggest disappointment of PES5 is not he LAG issue, it is now just a way of life. Nor is it the frustration of the CPU jumping over or turning in to the ball even though nearly standing on the touch line, not even the fact the player will take a position several yards back from where the ball will bounce and wait for the opposition to intercept it, and if the CPU wants to stick out a leg as an attacker goes past him in the box, then that is OK, after all it is a team game. No the single disappointment has to be the obvious lack of imaginiation for most online players, I mean the beautiful game should surely be played beautifully, how many times have I seen a player dribble down the goal line and then lay it back for an attacker waiting in the 6 yard box, very difficult to defend and a almost guaranteed goal, but very, very boring. Try a volley sometime, a little 1-2, a couple of step overs, but please dont bore me, if you want the win so badly I will score an OG for you, you then can try and entertain a bit!

Red i totally agree with you there. The beauty off pes is the variety of things you can do with the ball, the feeling you get when you score a goal witch u have 2 work for. Online you see player, for example, choose barcelona and throw constantly deep balls at ronaldhino with 6 defenders. It's that kind off things witch make matches online no fun to play, in fact, it pisses me off. PES for me is not winning, but to play a good game, with a feeling you cannot get in any other footy.
It almost turns me on;) when i do a low cross and have to fight to get before my defender and score a volley slamming into the net.

uh huh, 3 quater of my losses are because of those goals, one guy who played with man utd simply ran down the wings cut in and passed it too rooney/van and in those situations if your pressing X it will be a penalty or the player will simply turn you or just shoot on recieving the ball. the best chance of stopping it is getting to the ball 1st or a deflection on the 1st time shot. it piss's me off but hey if their winning i doubt they think about imagination.

hey don't get me wrong i've done it too but some people seriously have no other ways of scoring goals..

got done again a few times tonight, got beat 4-1, all 4 goals where the same. Also played this 1 guy, Krish_NL (?) he had the worst formation, well in a football sense, 4-1-0-1-4, with all that attack you would think he would try a few things, but no, the lay off was about all he had!

I have done it once or twice myself, sometimes you are just in that position, it is when it is repeated and nothing else tried that gets on my man tits (haven't got any really, well not yet anyways, if I did I would be tucked up in bed with them right now, dont know where I am going with this!)

yep they are what i call DIRT goals and i would say about 80% of the people i play do it!
they always seem to play 4-3-3. Get the ball , then through ball it to the wings! it is VERY borin!

These types of players are ruining PES5. Its a footballers game if they wanna score unimaginative goals they should play FIFA. Its only occasionally you play against someone who is going through the middle, attempting the odd trick. not just lumping it up to centre forward or boring cut backs:realmad:

Oi! I lump it up to centre forward fairly regularly. Not all the time I admit but when I'm under pressure at the back. For me, in PES, the direct long ball goal is THE goal to savour (if you can pull it off). It is very difficult to even get the flick on by the big 'un but when you do and the ball lands straight to the feet of your other forward who smashes it in - that my friends, is total football.

I know what you mean about the cut backs, I usually can deal with it easily enough except when Ronaldinho is on the pitch. That guy is the death of me every time unless I can get him injured before he does the damage. Just don't let them down your flanks even if it means taking off that attacking wingback in favour of the big brute cb/sb on the bench. Use the supercancel to knock the winger out of his stride LEGALLY. Works most of the time for me.

I believe these types of goals are the fault of Konami. Back in PES3 we all used to play good football and then our forwards would be able to beat the keeper one-on-one to score. Then in PES4, they made keepers better in those situations so people had resorted to either lobbing the keeper or passing it square past them.

Here's something fun from elsewhere:

nOt sure where I would put6 myself on this one. I like to spray the ball from one side to the other, releasing one of my strikers down the touchline. I will then whip a cross of some sort into the box from about the 18 yard line. I love scoring a sweet header or scissor kick.

Everyone I play against just goes stright up the middle of the pitch and tries to 'walk' it in. Obviously the success of this tatic versus crossing is much higher, but it is rather dull.

Its like familymahone says, if that is what someone is doing to you, then change your formation and just take them out!

I think this is missing the point, unless you are Roy Keane, the beauty of PES5 is that you can play football, it wants you to play football, its gaging for it, doing anythig else is lowering your standard, plus with the amount of times that you would have to do it it would soon be part of your natural game and then we have to start a thread about you!

backdoor nothing wrong with crossing the ball in to the box, you will see this in any live match, walking it in to the edge of the 6 yard box and then looking for the lay off is what I am talking about.

The points have no significance unless you have 12000+ points so make it beautiful!

hahaha ive played that barge!

in PES4 the big group of us who used to play banned dirt goals. We just all agreed we would never cut it back. The only thing allowed in that sort of situation where the players were down the wing was the triple O cross or just crossing in the air.

But because konami have made it more difficult to do through balls down the centre which is a good thing because they were WAY too easy on 4 people jus resort to running down the wing and cutting it back.
VERY ANNOYING

Is this out of frustration of being beaten ? I say score anyway possible, the best way to stop that was mentioned earlier use super cancel (R1+R2) to bump the player out or of fbalance

i can tell you do it then.

Its not being a sore loser at all, i dont mind losing!
I just dont like it if it is a loss from a dirt goal.
There is no skill in doing it and like ive said before in PES5 it is so easy to run down the wing and cut it back, virtually a goal everytime.
