Right well I've played Original? and Miggy now so I think I've found a fix although there is still a bit of lag but according to Original? its better than it was. I'll have to test it more as the lag on my end is much worse than ever before but unless I get a LONG ethernet cable, I'll have to make do. RB14, we'll play over the weekend sometime. Need to try and reduce the lag and ensure I can play everyone at will.

What did you change?

What did you change?

DMZ, router firewall off and all UDP ports in the FIFA 09 manual added to the list of privileges the PS3 connection is allowed to take from the PCs wireless connection - they aren't required on the router port forwarding list, strangely, although I've added them anyway now.

The only thing I've ever had to do previously - aside from port forwarding on the router - is DMZ for Pro Evo 5 or 6.

My connection system is more advanced than those of others because I'm sharing the internet through the PC with security settings at three levels. I'm hoping to find the 10m ethernet cable I have at work somewhere and bring it home to see if I can somehow put that under the carpet and plug it into the router downstairs without killing anyone coming up them!

Ah ok. Makes sense. I was actually sharing my wireless connection through my laptop to the ps3 when I was having similar issues so it makes sense. Now I just pull out the cable from the bedroom into the living room :)

I've got a 5m (or so) ethernet cable sitting next to me on my desk to take home and try to make an eyesore out of in an attempt to make a crisp connection for RB14 to beat me on...if its long enough :faceplm:

Can't find the black 10m cable though, some office arse bandit has clearly misplaced it.

I live in England and as its turned out, 5m - if that's actually what it is - is more than enough. I'm thinking its more like 10. Its plugged in now and seeing the router and internet fine so I'll test it later this evening to see if its an improvement over the DMZ+router firewall off+advanced port forwarding.

Add me on PSN (calcio_di_rigore) now if you're online and I'll be up for a game in a bit.

Good luck. I am at work at the moment since I live in the US but I will add you so we can play some time. Love the PSN name btw :)

Finally managed to get a game going with Don last night, a friendly match, there wasn't much lag, so this shows that our connections aren't the problem. It's EA's shitty inconsistent servers. Hmmmm......

Hopefully we can get the 2 legs done and dusted today, Sweey ;)

That's me out :faceplm:

Chelsea 3 Juventus 0
Juventus 2 Chelsea 2

I didn't even turn up until the second half of the first leg by which time I was already 2-0 down.
