No sir I did not. I think you'll all be surprised when I reveal.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't score another 3 all season!

I'll say no more as it'll give it away...:)

PEM: I'll take all the goals I can get. :)

The goals my team scored would've flown a mile over in FM '07. It does seem far more fluid and realistic in terms of player movement. The ball is less stuck to players, as well.

Yeh the movement is really good. You can see who has good first touch and who definetaly doesnt! Have you seen when there is a controversial goal for offside the defender goes over to the linesman! Pretty cool.

I have just noticed your screenie Nifty. My "secret" signing is Christie. I will continue to refer to him as "Super-striker" though. Now everyone's gonna have him >_0

3 league games, 3 victories. :smug: Sheff Wed away 0-2, Coventry at home 4-2. 6 goals for the super-striker and 1 for my other signing, Danny Invincible. Somehow I didn't win manager of the month, and super-striker didn't win player of the month, we were robbed by the goons at West Brom.

I'm actually playing defensive and direct football, and I'm using man-marking for the first time in ages and I'm doing pretty damn good. Still can't remember half the names of my players, but Gerkin (the 'keeper) has been quality. My assistant said I needed someone in, and I nearly went for Jimmy Walker, thankfully I kept faith in Gerkin and he's played out of his skin

Preston away next followed by Bristol City and Scunthorpe, 7 points definitely achievable there.

Oh yeah, I'm out the cup, but can't say I'm bothered, I played the second team and they were pretty useless. Lisbie is dire.

EDIT - I hope more people join in this. I've definitely enjoyed it since the actual season started. Pre-season was a drag.

EDIT 2 - I managed to beat Preston and City, but lost against Scunny. Granddad Teddy is out for a month and Christie and Lisbie aren't working well together.

I'm just about to start my season after having a fairly decent pre-season.

Malcolm Christie seems to be a goal-getter (albeit against weak teams in friendlies), netting 7 times in 4 appearances. Hopefully he can continue this into the season.

Steve Marlet has been somewhat ineffectual by comparison - but I'm sure his undoubted ability at this level will shine through eventually.

Elsewhere, my transfer activity has involved cashing in on Kevin McLeod (simply because I have Yeates, and the money was laid in front of me) as well as John White for a combined total of £205k, whilst signing the two big names along with Seth Johnson and Seyfo Soley, and Jerel Ifil at the back.

Plymouth away first game of the season, I expect nothing but a beating to be honest.

I'd already finished the season and got promoted to the Premier League.
I'll post screenies later.

2-0 down at half-time against Plymouth, bring on Jamie Guy for Steve Marlet - win the game 6-3, with Guy helping himself to a hat-trick. Malcolm Christie got two, with Soley (another new-boy) scoring the other.

I think we have the winner of the challenge here. Anyone putting 6 past Plymuff is deserving of the title in my humble opinion.

We haven't really set enough rules to this, but nevermind I guess. :|

I can't take part as I'm still waiting for my computer parts to arrive so I can build the mofo.

You're just hate me PEM.
 wan do you realize what you just said? also if i re arrange your sentence, no i don't "hate" you as such, i cant really "hate" someone over a forum, its just most of the time you ask stupid inappropriate questions which get really annoying plus the fact you spam very much.

A case of the kettle being referenced by the pot as a darker shade of grey, ah non?

FM-related - got knocked out of the League Cup by Dagenham & Redbridge 1-0, which was very poor. Gave some of the youngsters a chance though, so I couldn't really give a shit.

Just beat Blackpool away in my second league game of the season 2-1 - Jamie Guy came off the bench to score them both. He now has 5 league goals in only two half-time substitute appearances, away from home.

What is interesting is that I have now played 8 consecutive away games, counting friendlies. A month-and-a-half into various matches, and I finally get a welcome from my team's fans.

Sitting top of the league after two games, can't be bad. Jamie Guy is seriously a beast.

I recommend you guys sign/loan Fraizer Campbell from Man Utd.
He's immense for the Championship!
Too bad the loan has ended and he doesn't want to extend it!
That's why I can only finished 6th..

Lewis Grabban from Crystal Palace is a great loan buy for anyone lower than the Championship or struggling there - I usually get the lad on a free full-season loan, usually without contributing anything to his wages. :smug:
