Another failure for Konami!

Konami has decided that the cut scenes for PES 2015 is far more important that the gameplay. For a next gen game PES 2015 is just flat poor. Dull, pale colours reduces the look of the game. Those beautiful faces and glaring expressions are not used in the actual gameplay. (per Konami). They are only used for cut scenes, which eats up a lot of the resources of the not so new Fox Engine.

Unless you play this game when you are high, you will realize that the fluidity of the game is poor...sloooooow to be exact. This is easily noticed when a player receives the ball. He immediately seems 100lbs heavier.
He can no longer out run anyone. It shows more when he tries to turn. Thats when they come to an almost complete stop. Making it easier for defenders to bump, collide and steal the ball.

Next is the collision. There is none ..just run into the player and watch them just bubble all over themselves.

So my tactics have been pass pass pass....hoof the ball up-field if a defender nears my players in fear of a bubble up collision that forces a counter attack.

The game sucks balls, it will drive you up the wall just to get the ball up the field. Forget about dribbling ...just slowly try to walk/run past players. Your quickest players will not be able to outrun an old granny once he has the ball.

Final judgement .....same shit ....different year.

I too have a hard time with getting the ball up the field against good players. The thing is that in PES I've realized that your teammates just stand still most of the time in their positions. Whereas in FIFA they make runs but make stupid ones!
In PES it makes it so easy to mark them and you seldom have anyone unmarked up the field to pass to. However if you learn to use the L1/LB to make your teammates make runs, especially if you make manual runs with them and not just towards the goal, it gets a little easier and quite fun actually. I like it more becouse I have control of what happens instead of trusting the CPU controlled teammates to make good runs.

It's also important which formation you use. I prefer to use a formation with two sitting DMF and one AMF.
I've tried 4-2-2-2 but then I have noone in the space between my opponents midfield and defense.
I also tried the 4-1-2-3 formation and hated it! as the two AMF were too far apart from eachother and sending my only DMF on a run upfield was too risky and left me exposed to counter-attacks in case I failed and lost the ball.

With 2 DMF's and one AMF, I can either try to find my AMF in open space and try to turn with him and run at my opponents defense and if my opponent has a DMF marking him I can always move the ball through the midfield to set up my attacks by using the AMF kind of as a target man, facing my own goal, and make one of my DMF's make a run, pass it up to my AMF and then one-touch pass it to him now that he's running into open space.

It's a realistic way to play as it's how many teams play IRL and also IRL a lot of the game is precisely about having good build up play to get the ball upfield and set up attacks.

But that's just personal preference. You might even consider playing with two AMF's and sending them on runs and then have a big target man, someone like Ibrahimovic up front, and just feed him high R2/RT long balls and have him play it back to your AMF who's on the run into space. Just find your own way.

I think it's more realistic that way. IRL it's also quite hard to get the ball upfield once under pressure. Just look at how Barca plays.

On FIFA on the other hand it's just about abusing the game physics and glitches year after year. Last year it was strength and headers, year before that it was pace and corners and now on FIFA 15 it's pace again. SO BORING... And don't even let me begin with the god awful stupid kick-off glitch they haven't fixed in over two years!
And I'm actually quite good at FIFA. I'm level 57 currently playing in Div.2 on UT (got all the way from Div.10 in one sweep, not being forced to stay in a division for more then one season). I've played in Div.1 on UT in both FIFA 13 and 14.

About the slow gameplay: I agree with you a bit but FIFA is more of a pinball game in that matter. It's simply unrealistically fast on the other hand. In that case I prefer it the PES way over the FIFA way.

Hi everyone.

I played PES until about PES 2008 and then switched to FIFA. Up until then PES was so great and FIFA was just so bad at the time. However FIFA 09-14 I actually thought was better then the PES counterparts. Especially with the introduction of Ultimate Team.

I tried the PES 2015 demo and loved it. I don't like FIFA 15 very much. Even though I'm actually good at it I just don't like it. It's very pace oriented and it just doesn't feel like football to me. It can be fun but I wouldn't call it a football simulation. There is just so much going on that never would happen in a football game and people just don't play like that IRL.

PES 2015 is fantastic! PES is back!

HOWEVER the full game, and the support at KONAMI is so damn broken!

Issue no.1: I haven't received my pre-order bonus and have a case pending with the KONAMI support. Who also has a lot to learn from EA:s support. It's just so much more accessible. You can get help whenever, 24/7. There's always someone you can contact via the support chat or on the phone on top of the old ways, like e-mail and so on. KONAMI only works on business days and takes about 1-2 days to reply. It's just not good enough!

Issue no.2: The game constantly crashes. I play it on PS4 so I can't do a lot about it like on a PC it might be something on your computer settings or hardware or whatever but on a console it pretty much is always the game. It gets stuck when it's trying to connect to the PES servers and after a while the screen goes black with only the little "Establishing connections" in the bottom left corner left on the screen.

Issue no.3: This might not be what you would call an issue however it just annoys the hell ot of me. And that is some of the animations.
For example the animation of the net when you score a goal. It's so ugly and kind of looks like it's from a soccer game from the 90's. The goal animation of the net bulging and the whole net just bouncing a little bit on FIFA 15 is so nice.
Another are the menus. Just not very good looking. The menus in myClub are the worst. The menus in the Top Menu when you start the game are not as bad. But the menus in myClub just looks like something from the 90's and something that a little kid made. Uhghhh!

Appart from issues above, and then primarily the first and second one, I really like the game. But the first two issues just kind of breaks the game for me and it's such a shame since the game could have been really, really great.

Does anyone else feel me?

FIFA 14 FIFA 15 and PES 14 are possibly the worst football games ever released.

Issue 1: Konami have stated they are having problems wth the pre-order bonus, they are working on it and have promised those that did not get the bonus, will do when they have rectified the problem. (all new games have teething peoblems)

Issue 2: Konami are having problem with Sky and Virgin Media routers, apparently Konami are working on the problem.

Issue3: Personally i love the Menu's, but it's a matter of personal choice, as for the goal nets, i don't really care as the game itself is great, i'm sure Konami will look at this at some stage though.

Look at the PES forums, there are very few complaints for a new game just released. Konami seem to have turned the corner with the PES 15 release, i'm sure most problems will be sorted with patches. (give them time)

Go to the EA forums, FIFA 15 has page aftyer page of complaints, FIFA 14 had many thousands, EA completely ignored every single complaint, they must be the most obnoxiuos company that has ever existed in gaming.

This might be the worst named topic ever.

Instead of a pre-order bonus Konami should send this guy a dictionary so he can look up the word "broken".

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/broken

The word broken:

verb
1.
past participle of break.

adjective
2.
reduced to fragments; fragmented.
3.
ruptured; torn; fractured.
4.
not functioning properly; out of working order.
...

...and then a little bit further down the page...

British Dictionary definitions for broken Expand
broken
/ˈbrəʊkən/
verb
1.
the past participle of break

adjective
2.
fractured, smashed, or splintered: a broken vase
3.
imperfect or incomplete; fragmentary: a broken set of books

...

Once again...IT'S BROKEN...

Issue no. 1: I understand that a game might have problems in the begining but It takes so much joy out of the game. I was so excited on release day at what player I would get (hoping for Ronaldo). I was like a little kid on Christmas! And then.....SHIT!

Issue no. 2: I don't have either of the routers you mention.

Issue no. 3: It's always a matter of opinion when you talk about the beauty of things. Some people just love the retro 90's style of animations in games and some hate those kind of things. However it's a game made in 2014 and I for one think it wouldn't be much to ask if they could make the menus and some of the animations (among others, the nets) more up to date and not something a little child made in 1995. They do spend a lot of effort on making other things like facial expressions and goal celebrations look realistic anyway so why not spend at least a little effort on all the other stuff as well. It's just unbalanced.

Again, I'm not saying it's a bad game. I like the game! But it can be so much better. Instead of treating it like a perfect game and taking things that I say as a personal offence to you for liking and enjoying the game by saying stuff like: "Well, it's not a game breaker so I don't care. Stop wining!" Why can't people just admit that there are flaws in the game?! It's only natural that there would be as humans have made it.

About the difference in forum activity: Have you had a look at the forum at Playstation.com? It's pages of complaints about only issue no.1 that I mentioned. And you really shouldn't compare FIFA with PES in this matter. FIFA has so many more players it's not even close. FIFA has a widespread community on all sorts of media. There are for instance no PES Youtubers that I could find. I'm not saying there are none. I'm just saying I can't find them and if they're not easy to find then it can't be that many of them. Wheras FIFA has tons of content on youtube. There is just so many more people playing FIFA that the likelyhood of someone having issues and complaing about it is so much greater.

These only sound like minor issues to me (Apart from the 2nd one), I for one am happy that they seemed to have made an enjoyable game this time. I am looking forward to Christmas day when I get it with a brand new PS4. :)

Ok, so I had the same problem with my preorder bonus.

I preordered it from the US psn store and on the day of the release I didnt get even the notification... nothing, no code nothing.

I got back to the psn store from the PS4 and went into PES 2015 to see if there was some information regarding this. I found a FREE DLC with th free game points and the 3 players, I downloaded it and it prompt me that it couldnt be installed because it was already intalled. So I went back to the game, get back to MyClub and in the inbox there they were: the 20.000 gp, Gotze and 2 agents that gave me Lahm and Ribery.

I hope this helps someone.

I don't think you had an actual problem. There is already a message about this from KONAMI among the other messages when you start the game. If you get out of myClub and then get back in the message appears in your inbox with the agents and so on. You didn't have to go to PSN Store or try and download anything. I think the same would have happened for you if you just got back in to myClub right after leaving it.

The problem is that for me and many others it doesn't. DLC is already installed for me. It was downloaded with the game automatically on the day of release. I got no message, nothing in my inbox, just simply nothing.

I've removed the game and downloaded it again, twice. The DLC file starts downloading automatically once the game starts downloading. I've tried pausing the DLC download and let the game download, install it first, then start it, quit it and then download and install the DLC update. But nothing helps.
