I have a hint for all MLO. IF they update stats you should buy:

Ramsey
Wilkshire
Adam
A. Carroll

They will get you the most $$ if they raise there stats.

Why Ramsey? He has barely played since the last update.

Also, I suggest Bannan and Diame for cheap, plus Kraft.

Sahin might also be a great choice, but nobody even knows for sure they will update the stats, so...

If i'm not mistaken you can earn 1,5m euros for win, 1m for 2nd place, 500k for quarter and 300k for 1/8. Not sure about half-final.

Phew, and wow...
After just having played online when I got PES2011, I picked it up again last weekend and it seems quite some things are unclear to me. Although there are some things are unclear to me, and I seem to at least have difficulties understanding how to be able to get a decent team up and running like some others do without going bankrupt.

At the moment I have 2 new players, Fellaini and some other guy I don't even remember his name lol. Anyways, of course the entrance fees for matches and competitions rise but I have bought 2 fairly low lvl ranked players. My entrance fee is now at 157,000 Euros for competitions in D4 and 47,000 for matches.
I wonder though how, with the limited time given for the competitions, how there can be players in D4 who have more than half their team renewed, still loose and still gain money? It seems that if I buy 2 or 3 low level players more, I'll stop making money. And there are D4 teams with c. ronaldo and a bunch of other great players. I'm probably missing something here.
I have already released some of my original players to bring down the entrance fee.
Or am I correct in assuming that those teams in D4 with a complete renewed team or 3 quarters of their team filled with quite decent players are actually not making any money at all?

Another thing is something that happens during the matches...
My internet connection is always stable during any game I have played online, however... sometimes it seems that my actions during online PES play are delayed and that the opponent can dribble fluently, pass fluently etc...
E.G.: when I press a button or select a direction, it sometimes seems it takes a second or two to be registered during play. That kinda takes the fun out of it sometimes. But it certainly doesn't happen during all matches and it doesn't matter whether I'm the leader or someone else is. So far, I haven't noticed the opposite: where the opponent seems to struggle with sluggish play, delayed actions...

Also, at the very second the whistle blows at the end of the first half or full time, my screen goes black. Then before I even get the screen to proceed with the match or to return to the menu, the other player has already "proceeded" or left...
So I'm wondering if there is something specific to PES that might have to be taken into consideration when playing online when it comes to network setup.

Anyways, I just really started out, most of the time playing teams that have way better players than me. Usually I manage to at least equalize dry 0-0 :p
But it gives confidence that I can achieve that. Sometimes I loose big though, but sometimes I win. all in all I seem to get hooked up for this online play.

I don't follow you here for some reason. Bottom line though is that you shouldn't be worried about going bankrupt. You make money even if you lose, so all you really have to do is keep playing as many matches as possible.

Anyway, maybe start by letting us know what your squad is and we can propose some changes or improvements if you're really struggling???

Hi and thanks for your reply. My apologies for the somewhat fuzzy post...
guess I was a tad bit over-enthusiastic.

I'll make sure to review my current team and post the set-up, but it's reassuring that it takes quite a bit to go bankrupt :)

cheers

Ok, well here we are. I'll just post my current line up and the substitute players.

I feel happy with fellaini and the other guy I got (always forget his name lol, he's 70 overall rating). It gives me a couple more options and a bit more solid play in the midfield)

I play a 4-3-3 setup
2 CB: Jaric and Stremer
2 WB: Ximelez and Espimaz
1 DF: Dodo
1 CF: Fellaini
1 AF: The new guy xxxxx (released minanda to get him)
1 SS: Guttierez
2 CF: Castolo and Huylens

-------Castolo----------------------Huylens---------
----------------------Guttierez---------------------
----------------------------------------------------
------xxxxx-----------------------------------------
---------------------------------------Fellaini-------
-----------------------------------------------------
------------------------Dodo------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------
--Ximelez----------------------------------espimaz---
--------------Jaric--------------Stremer--------------
------------------------Ivarov------------------------

So this is my base team.
I released a couple of players. I read some tips about releasing many players from the starting team but to start out, I decided to keep some players so I can at least substitute the ones who are in bad form.

I still have Bauman as a CB substitute
Valeny and Ruskin as SB substitutes
Iouga and Stein as DF, CM or even CB substitute. Kinda to fill in the holes when necessary
Hamsun, Fouque and Ettori: CM, AM, CF substitute
Burchet, Ordaz: CF, WF substitute

This formation I've played the entire offline ML league with. It's definately not a defensive one. Later, the WB will become SB and depending on attacking needs they'll be put back to WB. Usually this play relies heavily on passing and availability from the key players on the pitch. I'm sure this formation has it's flaws. But it usually works out offline anyways.

The main question/issue I have now is that I do not really know how to advance from here. I know I should keep playing matches so I can afford more players. The thing is, I've been browsing the transfer market and even the lower level '70 rated players will add up quite a bit to the entrance fees of matches and competitions.
So I'm wondering if I'll still manage to gain something from playing quick matches.
Of course, there are the competitions, but as entrance fees will rise, so will the net profit decrease after having played 4-5 matches in that competition.

I have noticed though that I seem to be able to play more matches in the normal competitions than in the coach mode competitions. So maybe there's more money to be gained in the normal competitions?

Lol, brings back memories from when I started out the ML offline original team. Haha, fun times. Difficult but so fun.
