Have my sidebacks on the midfield line to give all around support. The anchor MC plays deep, sometimes acting as a 3rd CB, and sometimes bombing forward. The AMC is as close to the middle of the pitch while still being able to be labeled as "amc". Gives me depth, and room to work the ball up the pitch. I've noticed having players too high up on the pitch doesn't give you many options as the players are pressed by a high opponent line.

I have a Dzeko as the 2nd CF playing deep to hold the ball and find the quicker striker up front.

It's a tactic I've perfected on Football Manager.

what format u play on? pc?

Yup

Have to say this formation is difficult sometimes. I dropped my RB back down the pitch to provide cover and switched LB to LWB to give a little more support on the flank.

Without flank support this formation falls apart given the amount of closing down people do online.

I caved and went to a 3-2-1-2-2. 3 cbs, 2 deep cms, central Am, LM and RM and two CFs.

So much easier to exploit the common online tactic of blitzkrieg pressing.

Hey guys, long time out of here...

My team now, on D2 on PC

And until now, never loss by Messi's, Arshevin's, CR7's, Villa's

What are you think about my team? Any suggestions?

Was doing well and was aiming at promotion to D3. Then went on a horrible skid losing or drawing almost every game. My players were not responding well or making stupid decisions, something I didn't see on my most recent good run of form. Just don't understand it, it's like once you get to a certain amount of division points, the game handicaps you.

I sold Trezeguet (decent player, but wasn't good on the ball) and used the money to buy 55-65 rated backups to replace anyone on poor form and so I can actually sub in players. Let's see how this improves my game.

I started playing online about a month ago, and I'm not too good. I'm still trying to find my way on this component of PES. The funnest thing seems to be searching for players. The least funnest thing would be playing people with the same style. I have this picture in my head of a group of guys(or kids) in a gaming café screaming to their buddy to get it to his guy out on the wing and to triple tap the cross button. I'd rather give up the ball, which I do quite often, than to succumb to this strategy. Funny too, because if I had a kick-ass team,or the funds to have a kick-ass team, I'd be trying to score amazing goals instead. I figure that not scoring amazing goals with an amazing team would take the piss out of playing the game. I'll still keep playing, though.

I only go 4 CBs when I'm playing someone who is worth 10 times as much as my team.

2 Cbs vs 4 or 5 world class strikers is a handful to say the least.

against world class strikers (if u are a lower team) u just need to put your player support as low as u can and put another deep dmf, maybe play with 3 dmfs. u still wanna have speed and agility to run with wingers. if u get a 1v1 with a winger and a cb, he ll rip em to shred with a single move.

but i see what that dude is doing its the typical i ll hold x till i get the ball/counter attack formation. i ve been playing regular ML and every team i encouter with a 4-3-3 plays this way. so even the AI in the game plays this way, which is a shame. a team like chelsea uses their sidebacks to gain advantage and break down the wings not just play counter.

are ppl using the right stick? i feel that makes the game a little bit more fluid and can easily make defenders back off, because u can beat them with a rightly timed flick

sorry for all those posts, was having issues obviously...

I've switched my formation to a 3-2-1-2-2. 3 cbs, 2 DMs, 1 AMC, 2 SMFs, a SS high on the pitch and CF opposite him and a little further back.

I know it's 4 1/2 guys in attack (amc is link between midfield and attack so I'm counting him as 1/2) and it's kind of cheesy, but damnit, I don't want to play with wing forwards, and I want 2 strikers in the box, one being a speed guy and the other a strong forward.

It's worked pretty well, need to bring in some different players though as I don't have a quality CF. I'm thinking of dropping Agbonlahor and maybe picking up Gyan Asamoah, Pedro, or Muller. Sure Agbo has bags of speed, but he gets knocked off ball easy, isn't the best dribbler, and speed doesn't make much difference anyway. Gyan has 85 body balance to go with 89 speed and Goal Poacher card (opposed to Agbo's Darting Run)

Pedro is a good shooter and has excellent weak foot ability and a ton of player cards and muller is well rounded. Thoughts? If I buy any one of those 3 players, I'll have an extra million from selling Agbo to help me upgrade my CF.

finished all exams, wanna play MLO, but then the PSN still down. unbelievable. Its almost been a month.

Frey
Milner, Natali, Bruno Alves, Vargas
Wilson Palacios, Park Ji Sung, Gorcuff
Dotan, Berbatov, Miccoli

got ManCity's De Jong, Schweinsteiger and 2-3 more useful subs.
happy with this current team setup tbh, tho might be looking for replacement for Natali, Palacios (probs Essien) and Miccoli (thought about Gyan, but not good enough tech attributes ie pass and shoot)

AMC is Pires. He lacks responsiveness and speed, but is a solid passer and an excellent shooter.

Does the Incisive run card do much? I have SMFs without the card and while they provide attacking support, I have to manually dribble them into the box. Dempsey is my RMF, but he never gets many opportunities to shoot (which he is good at)...oh well
