Is it just me or is the referee way to card happy this time round.

Any slide tackle that touches the player seems to be deemed a bookable offence.

For example, I'm defending, player's running down the wing, I run in at an angle, slide in, after I slide they turn back round so that I slide into him and not the ball, yellow card.

Surely misstimed challenges should be let go first time, maybe a second, then booked.

against you it does it but comp will bring you down on every angle and you wont get anything. other day i was clean through, keeper brings me down... nothing, then went clean through was hacked down on edge of box... booking!!!! then they went through my player caught up and slid in with my keeper at same time and got sent off,,, won the ball too

Yeah the refereeing is absolute pun on PES2008. Bans all round for my ML players and I used to very rarely get bookings.

Any tackle from behind is practically a red card offence, it's outrageous. I got 3 players sent off in a game that I played online yesterday (although still won 3-2!).

yeah and u seem 2 give bucket loads of penos away for the slightest touch, its gay online when u cant do nothing about it.

Yeah it is stupid!!! i think the last game had the right balance between the decisions so why change?? .
I also think once you start to get used to this version you get less cards. eg timing of tackles! is different from the last game.....
but then just when you have a good spell wham you get a red card for an "X" button challange!!!!! try to snap your controller in half. then chase the other players around taking them out wth leg braking slides before reseting your ps3!!

That is one of the rules of football though....

But the refs are awfully unfair in the game. If it was equal for both teams, no-one would mind, as it was in PES5.

i've played a season and a half and ive given 3 pens, but ive had about 3.

and only about 5 yellows n 2 reds. just wen u slide tackle go from the front (make sure you get the player on the way through)

that happens to me all the time, if the comp is through one on one they dummy it and my keeper gets no where near them or the ball they tap in,if i get through one on one and dummy it 9/10 i beat the keeper whose entire body takes me clean out,blatant contact blatant penalty,nothing EVER gets given,yet if im running from the wing and turn a defender who sticks a leg out with no contact and i dive i get a pen despite minimal if any contact,especially in comparison to the fouling keeper whose are just soooooo obvious.

ive had enough players sent off in ~ML to call the game off,it was 1-0 and i was ontop,wrongly got a red,2-0 got another red wrongl,so they went 3-0 and i got more players sent off in sheer frustration,the game was 4-0 when i got the last guy sent off and it meant the game finished 3-0 overall.

i agree that the computer get away with much more. however if you have played Fifa 08 the referee on PES is much less biased!

No it isn't, a tackle from behind is a bookable offence if it's a rough challenge from behind, a foot in is not necessarily a booking in real life, but in PES it's always a booking

No, you got it all wrong, the referee aren't stupid... They're just morons that can't tell bookings!! They were far more stupid than stupid, they were idiot at it's worst!! And they're the reason why I hate playing PES 2008!!

I find that the referees are sometimes really harsh for some tackles and too soft with others. I think that my style gets me too many cards in this game as slide tackling is something that i have always been good at. But in the new game i am constantly getting booked for tackles that the replays show that the ball was won cleanly and the man was taken down after.

I've got a straight red for a first offence, its really annoying... it isnt as if the tackle is that bad. Should be a yellow at least for the first offence...surely?

This happens to me is very anoying.So i stop using the tackling i juts put pressure on players by holding R1+X
