The Sims

I know theres a thread for Sims 2 & 3 but I'm thinking this one can just cover all of it. Would be much easier.

Does anyone like The Sims? Have you ever made any decent houses or achieved anything on the game?

I'm an old school cunt. I have the original Sims with the seven expansion packs.

I had quite a lot of the original expansion packs. I hardly ever played The Sims 2 as it ran very slowly on my PC and I couldn't get used to all the building options.

I remember the first time I had a burglar on 1. I had no alarm, so he robbed my cooker and microwave and I couldn't phone the police in time. :(

I had the Sims deluxe, and made my house and family pretty damn accurately. The funnest part for me was making the house and shit, rather than playing the game. I remember when Santa came during the game, and he ate the milk and cookies I left out for him. What's the newest version of the game? I may aquire it again.

I know what you mean, I love furnishing the houses compared to making friends which is just tedious. I never really liked the restaurants/pet stores etc. on the expansions either.

2 is still the most recent, with loads of expansion packs and bundles out. 3 should be out within the next year I believe, but it's been a while since I checked out info on it.

I never took you for a Sims fan! I've played it a couple of times but it's too much hardwork for me.
I have the occasional phase where I play on it and get addicted to it for a week and then leave it for six months. Then when I go back I see all the shit I had made.

I went on it last week and found a prison, a block of flats, a castle and a school I had made sometime last year.

The real fun part for me is building and furnishing the house. I think the castle I made costs around £200,000. The worst part of the game is when you put the sims in, because when you put them on free will, half of the time they end up killing themselves.

Surely the problem with a general thread as opposed to a game-specific one is finding the page with information?

In the threads for 2 and 3, the first post should generally contain a fair amount of game information.
