All the faults in PES 3 are fairly minor, and it is a country mile ahead of all football games. Imagine if a thread was opened on the faults of FIFA 2003, it be about 5000 pages long.

Could some one also explain the two attacking arrows you can apply - how does the player choose which one to use? The only way I have consistently managed to get players forward is to give them attacking arrows forward and low defensive but that results in them almost goal hanging and not tracking back at all, then i get swamped in midfield.
If someone could explain how to get plays both back and forward I would be most grateful and it would improve gameplay for me tenfold

A minor irritation is when you spend ages changing all the players names, and then you find out you have to change the shirt names seperately.

And FYI, i disagree with your points about the defense clustering in the middle, the AI of the defenders and shooting. There's a way around these problems and it's called 'skill'. I've explained elsewhere about the defensive problem - if you are constantly on the attack then the defense will naturally tighten up in the middle. The way to beat this is to plan a more patient build up to goals.
I've scored some screamers already, so I can't share your criticism about shooting. If you try and score with full power blasters all the time then chances are you're going to miss, just like in real football.
And as for the 'telepathy' of the defenders, IMO i feel that this is a strength of the game - you can't just expect to waltz past defenders will-nilly anymore. I personally prefer the pro evo 3 defense to pro evo 2.

The way round the defense in my opinion is simply to get the ball wide and cross it but simply scoring from crosses all the time gets a tad boring.
I find it interesting that you think the telepathy of the defenders is a strength of the game, lets hope to see it as a player attribute in the next version!

bad 3* feels like 6*(PES2)....i dont know if it is me..but sometimes i have 3 players trying to get a ball from the cpu..and only after they reach my box i finaly steal it off them...(is there a special technique to steal the ball?

i have no bad things to say bout it really its all good...as for some1 saying they can not get a 2 on 1 of course ya can it depends on your tatics ie if ya use counter attack there will always be 1 striker up front play a 1 -2 of him and bring another player into the game its all bout practice plenty of it and tatics i change my tatics nearly every game depending on the cpus formattion etc for instance if ya break up a cpu attack near your box and theres only 2 cpu defenders back i will switch to 4-3-3 and centre attack 9 times out of ten u will out number the cpu dfefenders and score

But when i do the same up the other end they always end up getting it
And yes i do know theres an attribute called dribble speed
Also when you're sprinting and turning the animation is a little fake
And a bad colour pallette, why dont they just put a whole colour table in!
But thats about it for me,

you mis understand me, I do not want to change my tactics eevry game, if I want players to make forward runs I should be able to get them to do it without having to place more men upfront. I could change my tactics to simply outnumber the cpu team but i feel that that is the 'easy'way especially if the cpu AI is not clever enough to counter your formation.
I basically would ideally like to play an attacking 4-4-2, with a diamond shaped midfield and get players forward, with a slow build up and plenty of players making runs of the ball, yet no matter how i try i cant get them to do it
so who uses the tatic buttons ie l1 and circle square etc ????? and wot do u set them to ???

i use cirlcle as centre back overlap (only when im losing or for corners )
i use triangle for 4-3-3 for a nice attack minded formattion
but it all depends on who im playing at the time

The shooting is unrealistic as player like scholes and gerrard would be able to strike the ball at tarket from outside the box, but it just goes over the bar
The free kicks are not as good
Players make less runs and the ball is intercepted by the opposition easier like in a fifa game ( pass intercept then they pass and u intercept hard to build up play)
The corners and long balls are to slow and high .eg when u play the ball from one wing to another it is intercepted.
The heading of the ball is more random.
The new layout is less colurful, more confusing , boring.
The ball is too small
The referee is too harsh , tackling not as good

New stadiums and teams
Better graphics and atmosphere
Licensed kits and ball ect
The ability to volley the ball
Cool control and skills
Better traning and edit mode

Yeah good point. I always use the strategy buttons, otherwise the players simply won't make runs down the wing - they wouldn't in any of the other ISS games either.
My housemate used to moan about his players not making runs in Pro evo #1, and i said the said the same thing to him.
