Things you could add to PES

I was just looking through the games section in my room and came across Uefa striker for the ps1 I think.

Anyways in the manual it explains that R2 can be used to "bring down the ball in the air".

I've mentioned this to other posters, why can't konami do something similar for PES?

I mean, when the ball is crossed diagonally to the right/left midfielder from one side of the field to the other, there is no way of jumping to reach for a ball thats coming in at shoulder height with your feet? Also, take for example the control Rooney executed to set-up Walcott's 3rd goal for England, i.e. lifting his right leg so that his toe stuck up at almost head height from a standing position, to bring the ball down towards his right was amazing...

I think konami could do well to add a variety of trapping animations because that ultiamtely seperates the great players from the average one's, and also add the R2 feature to trap high lobbed balls...

thoughts?

wasnt that on older versions of pes ?

I'll probably get a bit of stick for this, but from what I've saw so far, FIFA 09 is the way forward this year.

I've played the demo and imo it's quality...so much they've added, simple things like animations etc.

I've also saw gameplay of PES 2009 and it looks almost identical to PES 2008 which is just disappointing I'd say. I don't really wanna judge the game from a video or two I've seen but I don't really see where the future of PES is going.

I'll end up buying both games for sure, but I can honestly see myself swaying towards FIFA 09 more often this season.

So it may look at 1st.. However, if you actually watch and compare footage of PES09 and PES08, the Difference is clear.

The thing that disappoints me a bit is that PES09 looks extremely Similar to PES5 (or PES6).

But then again, When has FIFA ever been that good in terms of Gameplay??

The way I see it, FIFA09 still lacks a lot of Depth and Substance in the Gameplay department -whereas- PES has made a Significant Update in the Graphics.

So I respect your opinion, and it may well turn out to be true -BUT- there's NO way I see FIFA being better than PES.

Add visual things like players warming up on the sidelines. Maybe that could have a knock on effect to players on the pitch uping there game as they may get subbed!!! I know it would prob be hard to do, but I think it would look the nuts!!!

naked man running on the pitch?

I know what you mean.. just the other day I was watching a replay of yet another Goal from a chest-pass Assist. I have seen that plenty of times in Real Football, and I think it should be included as a first-touch (trapping) option.

It would make Tall players more Useful -as- we can send a Long Ball and then chest it down to another team-mate, etc, etc..

Trapping is an Aspect of the game that needs a lot of Improvement: Sombrero Moves (ball flicks), chest passes, controlling with the chest or other body parts, etc, etc.. A more Elaborated Trapping system (and Controls) would add a significant amount of Realism to the game.

Yeah totally agree about sombero's etc, amateur...

also it would be great to add a specfic feature for a player like kaka, where he knocks the ball into space, usually behind the defender, to run onto.... would be pretty cool.

The keepy-ups should be nowhere PES imo. How many times have you seen in a game of football someone start doing kick ups in the game, without the need? Only tossers do it. They do it to wind the other team up and it would certainly wind me up if people could do it on PES.

but miggy, what about being pinned near your own corner flag, with an opposition player pressing you.

i've seen many a time, the player (in real footy i mean) would flick the ball up and volley it down the line.

i agree with you when it comes to standing in the middle of the pitch doing a ronaldinho impression. i'd target the player with a view to getting sent off but as for being able to keep the ball in the air for situations like the above, i think it would add something to pes

i think they should add that a 3rd player that can make the refereing(sorry if misspelt) decisions so there not bored when watching there over two mates play it could be a lot of fun providing there fair lol

That sounds mint! Imaging a player diving and you gave the so called offender a red card a penalty against them as well. They would probably lose it like real footballers! ha ha

They need to use real cash instead of points.

They should have a retaliation button (similar to taking a quick free kick). Where if you get fouled you press a button, and depending on how agressive he is, his mood, or current score, he could push the player or even attempt to punch them. The latter would result in a red card but would be very fuuny.

id like to see the return of the hand ball

The banter that can be had when your defending heavily, 1 nil up, in extra time ... then your defender hand balls it. Its a kick in the stones but great fun ... espeically if its you that wins the pen :D

Would be a cool feature.. But that's a very Basic piece of skill, so maybe it shouldn't be that "Specific".

Some similar features I'd like to see is Juan Roman Riquelme "Shielding" the ball between 2 or 3 players, that would be cool, and Not everyone can do that.

That's a Difference I would love to see in a Football Sim, the Basics, the Ability of "Shielding" the ball in all types of Situations -and- the Ability of "getting past a player".

You can say that Leo Messi is better than Riquelme at getting past opponents -BUT- there's No way he is better at Shielding and keeping the ball, even when going SLOW, wich is incredibly rare and difficult.

That's one fundamental thing I have never seen in any Football Sim.. there are Dribblers with Pace who are better than most at getting past opponents -while- there are also players who are Not that good at getting past opponents (probably because of Lack of Pace), but can Hold the ball better than most.

Anyways, I'm guessing Konami will need to come up with a New Engine -before- we get to see all those Features.

Hello All,

(ps3 version)

i'd like to be able to save more than 20 replays per profile, and access them from the xmb under the videos section (mpeg playable format maybe??)

trade master league teams online, have edit options like pes6 and mp3(xmb) compatibility...

is that too much to ask!
