Is it even worth doing a compare and contrast with fifa and pes? its like comparing a mound of shit to a mile high stack of gold bars! :D

I kind of agree that the shooting could be a bit better, particularly the animations. Its also very difficult to drive a hard shot from range that skims along the surface. Thats something i would like to see. The only other gameplay quibble i have is that you can't play the long ball game properly, ie when you drop a long ball infront of an attacker he invariably fluffs the control of the ball, losing all advantage over the chasing defenders.

This is just being picky though. To say that FIFA is SO much better is inexcusable.

This is my first post on the site , I live in the united states and began playing winning eleven 7 .I quickly became a soccer (er football ) junkie. The only games that are ever in my ps2 are either we7 or now we8 my fellow addict friends come over and hours are spent cursing each other or yourself, for giving up the game winner in stoppage time ,to dancing in front of the t.v. after kicking your buddies ass. at first i felt the new version was slower and it is , but it definitely lets you be more creative. I play on star no.5 and at first i was a little frustrated at being able to get off only 1 or 2 shots a game the problem was i was playing with the we7 mentallity now ive won matches by as many as 4 goals. my opinion the game is fantastic , cant wait to see how the next game in the series tops this one.

I must agree that PES 4 isn't that big of improvement in comparison with PES 3. I've played fifa 2005 and in my opinion it is a big improvement in comparison with fifa 2004. But even though the big improvement of fifa, in my opinion PES is still superiour to fifa in any way. Maybe in a couple years fifa will be superiour to PES but if I compare the games fifa has still got a LONG way to go.

Well Pro always tops the last game.(Well that's my opinion) Hopefully they will get a online mode for the PS2.....More teams and lisences......Goalkeepers actually want to move for the ball.......and none of that slow down crap.

If they can get them, I would be grateful personally. If they can add more on top of what I said, then I will not have a clue, how they will top the next after the next in the series?!?!?

:)

I'm having a blast up here in CAN with WE8I. Just received it Feb 2nd and i've played it everynight. No goalie freezing (thank god!) everything is smooth, no slowdowns when the box is crowded. this game is the best right now I have to say. I tried the FIFA '05' and it sucked. that's what led me to try WE series (WE7I). There's no comparison WE8I murks any EA footie game.

True. I think that EA have always been in it for the money, wheras Konami have wanted to create a good game.

When I first started to play PES 4, I found that it was harder to shoot, harder to pass and harder to head a successful cross compared to PES 3, and because of that it looked like I was going to be disappointed with the game. However, when I carried on with the game, I learnt how to make more successful shots, passes and head properly. I also found that the shot types vary differently, with close range tap ins, screamers from miles out and well placed, unstoppable shots from just inside the box. I have also seen the keepers make some pretty good saves as well.

I think that PES 4 has been quite a bit different from PES 3, but its changes are subtle - the cut scenes, the on pitch ref and more accurate team and player names have made the game a lot more enjoyable and an even better football experience.
