Having played all the pro evos on ps1 and ps2 last week I went out and bought an Xbox 360, first game i bought was pro evo 8. Not having played the game in a few years I was looking forward to playing the master league and going online.
The Master League, after my first game my whole team needed a rest. I started to think maybe I had to do training or something (maybe my players were just not fit) so I went through the manual, found nothing. I then figured that maybe it was the difficulty I had selected. (Top player on game level and Very hard on Master League Level) So what do these settings do exactly? I went to the manual again found nothing. Right so Master League was out the door. I decide to go online.
Online Experience, so I play 30 or so games, get beaten in most, but I don't mind I'm only learning again. Then i start to see some strange things. Now I'm not talking about glitches (when Im running down the wing on the attack about to cross and all of a sudden the ball comes from my box as if my keeper took a goal kick) I put that down to the "live" experience. But i start to get frustrated when absolutely absurd things happen.
Examples being, my keeper running out to intercept a through ball before the striker can reach it and the keeper completely misses it. This happened about 5 or 6 times and not just my keeper. My keeper taking a goal kick passes it short to my full back who plays it straight back and then my keeper puts it out for a corner with nobody near him at all.
Another thing i noticed is my defenders not jumping for headers at corners, or defenders staning still or even running away from the ball when they should be running toward it!! and yes I'm hitting the right buttons.
I even scored a goal that came out through the side netting and it was given as a corner. My keeper has saved loads of shots that he has parried in front of him and the ref gives a corner.
I could go on and on and on but i wont, even writing this I'm getting frustrated my game goes into its box and onto ebay when i wake up in the morning.
I will never buy another another pro evo game again and I wouldn't touch fifa as its a totally unreal football game, but it looks like it has competition now. I really dont know the best sports game in the world turned into this muck.
EDIT: Having read through the forum I can see that most if not all of these have been brought up. I honestly feeel like I have been robbed. Fair play to the ppl that stick around and hope for some update/miracle patch. Im going back to cod4, comparing these two games in terms of online play and options actually shows how bad this game is. I feel sorry for the kids who will wake up xmas morning put this game in the console and lose all faith in santa. Konami ruining xmas. ;-)
