i've been playing Pro evolusion soccer 3 and something that bothers me is trying to volley a ball from a cross?

everytime i cross the ball in all i seem to be able to do is head it.

this is what i'm doing

running down the wing crossing the ball with Circle then when the ball comes to the player pressing square.

anyone any idea's

I tried to do that last night as well. I learnt that if you let the ball come right up to you and then press square, you should score! Welcome to the forums.

Also, if you have space hold r1 and move back a little to chest the ball down, and then you can take the ball on the volley or half-volley depending on the technique of the player

if you are in really tight space but there is someone unmarked around you, pass header it to him and then volley it with the free man. looks great when it works

ive also managed to chest the ball down with the circle button.

ive always just used x or square button when goin up for a header..never thought of trying anytihng else, since playing pes2 so much its easy to forget that theres alot of new moves alright in pes3!

use R2 to control the player while the ball is in the air. intitally the player stands in a position where the ball will hit his head. using r2 move him a few yards back so the ball will land at his feet.

Try pressing O twice to do a medium height cross, then press [ ] just before it reaches him. He should do an acrobatic volley more often that way.

If that doesn't work press O three times to do a really low cross. He might strike it as it bounces up to him.
