I live in the usa ( but i am not an american and thank you god for that blessing ).
But here is ur reason...this moron who reviews that game says FIFA 09 is champ again has not even played PES 2009....and stupid americans will read this and then they will ngo to a gamestore and buy FIFA 09 ant stop by Mcdonalds on the way back and stock up on BIG MACS and CHEESEBURGERS and then they will make that OK by buying a DIET soda and go home and get fat! and then complain about how its not their fault they are fat.

or....maybe cuz I've never in my life seen a poster for Pes (or WE back in the days) in Canada. Forget about an ad on tv either. Dunno about the states but could be the same. Fifa on the other hand is all over the place. You come in a shop and there'll be dozens Fifas conveniently lined up at the counter. You have to go and ask for Pes cuz you'll need an eagle eye to spot it in the shop and almost everytime the employees have no clue what you're talking about. A few times they even brought out Fifa when I asked for Pes :no:

the reason PES doesnt sell well in the US are

1. no advertising...no tv ads, no posters around the city, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
It's like they are trying to keep the game a secret too themselves

2. This is the 1st time I can ever remember the game being released so close to the UK/japan launch...do you expect people to wait to buy a soccer game after it was released nearly half a year earlier everywhere else? and on top of that, you can't even be bothered to update transfers

3. they dont target the market they should....that being latinos....sales would jump if they ever decided to advertise during all those mexican league games...put marquez or guardado on the cover, and you got more sales

4. not enough copies of the game....here in San Francisco, you really do have to pre order because they run out of copies within a few days of it...and after it sells out, you have to wait for the new shipment? you can't sell a game if you cant even supply it properly and have it in the stores. The situation is so bad that I have sold my copies nearly 9-10 months later on ebay, and have gotten close to my money back on the sales...that is crazy considering how much video games devalue after even a month

5. the licenses....yeah, PES' gameplay is light years ahead of FIFA, but would it hurt to get pick up some licenses? getting the CL license is a step in the right direction. and again, if they ever decide to say get the license to the mexican league and some of the other central/south american teams, you would see a huge boost.


no one is to blame other than konami...it's as if they forfeit the market to fifa
