Firstly, i didn't really nkow where to put this thread so apologies if it's not in the right place.
I was just reading this weeks interfering with play and stopped when i read that if i'm reading i should defend the fifa!
right, i would like to establish that i am sickened and appauled about what i am about to write as it goes against everything i have ever said and i wish it wasn't the case, however. . . ive been playing pes since the iss days and imo it has always been far better than fifa even last year fifa didn't come close, but this year pes just isnt good enough. I still don't think fifa is a good game, just pes is awful, and quite honestly if i didn't feel it a waste of my ps3 and 360 i would be playing pes6 on the ps2.
Reasons pes is poor
- I can run (on top Player) from one end of the pitch to the other with a def and score. this is one of my main gripes with pes, it is very very unrealistic.
- no matter wat tactics i deploy or wat runs i tell players to do they NEVER stay in poition.
- Goalkeepers obviously
- players have no weight to them, if i super cancel whilst dribbling i can knock the biggest def of the ball with the smallest of players.
- lack of atmosphere.
i have always agreed that pro you will pick up and play over and over even when the best new game has come out. . .not this year, one game too quikly paced, far too easy and with 3 25 yard screamers scored ive had enough, theres no fun in an easy game. The ball physics are far far superior to fifa as are the player liklynesses imo, as i have said fifa is still not a good game but heres why its better.
- strong playres will not be bullied of the ball.
- more emphasis on passing moves, drawing def out of position and quik one twos.
- free shooting, passing and trhough balls with power bars add to realism, difficulty and satisfaction when a good pass is complete or goal scored.
- better keepers.
- dribbling harder even with the best dribblers, which makes taking on three players all the more impressive.
- Harder to score, no more 8-0's on the hardest level against the best teams.
- and i notice a comment on aerial battles, they are not luck, you need to jostle and work for the space which you can clearly see working when you move your player.
- penalties obviously and all the obvious licensing crap which doesnt really bother me. having said that the atmosphere does make a hug difference.
I think i main problem with pro is its far to easy and i feel this year arcady, too fast, players can take the whole team on so easily.
Having said all the above pes still has better free kicks, shooting physics (score better goals but too often), player techniques and models, and if i had to choose between FIFA 08 PES2008 and PES6 i would choose PES6 anyday, football games this year are very poor but unfortunately pro is teh pits.
Please remember this is from a pes fanboy who hates fifa with a passion and is very very anoyed that hes spent money on the enemy and is happy wioth it. . . i will still buy pes2009 before i go near fifa09 and hope and pray i can play it with out being bored after 2 minutes.
