Through balls

Am I the only one who thinks they suck ass?
I mean, look at the PS2 games, they were just about perfect! Every through ball goes just where you wanted them, from the 6 years I've been playing PES on PS2 I can't remember even one time where it didn't go where I wanted it to.
This year? The complete opposite! For the two weeks I've been playing I I can count on one hand how many successful through balls I had. When you want them strong, they go weak, when you want them weak they go strong, when all you need is a simple ball between two defenders it sends your striker to the corner flag, and Im not even talking about through balls in the center of the field - its just a complete waste of time. All the things I mentions above works perfectly on the PS2 games!
All the reviews said that through balls have been fixed, but they weren't - they're just like in the demo! This is so frustrating that I'm starting to use manual pass more and more.
Your thoughts?

Definitely harder and also some odd results, if your the last player up front and you mistakenly think someone is 'down the line' it just hammers the ball into touch!
Have to be honest I think it is a good thing really on the whole, you have to be sure where your playing it before you do, true of real football, in the past the through ball was too easy.

Through balls could have been better I agree. But if you get used to them and time them right, then you realize that they're not so bad. Also since pes is full of individuality, get a long passer with your team before attempting an accurate long ball.

I agree with Douglas on this one - through balls (especially chipped through balls) have been too easy and precise in the past....You have to be far more careful now which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Before they were too easy but i think Konami have gone too far in trying to rectify it.

Maybe it is time to go down the Fifa route with through balls and have them on a power bar???

Yeah true enough. If you're not to close to the opposing goal line i think they work fine (use them mostly on the flanks though). I must admit, that the higher through balls are a bit shite - When the striker is in perfect position and the midfielder just makes a high pass right in the opposing defenders chest :)

Throught ball is sometimes hit and pass, sometimes they're are absolutely pathetic.

I think if you master the manual pass this would be perfect.

After a bit more of playing,I can tell I'm less annoyed about this and think that they are ok. Yeah, sometimes they go wrong (especially when you run towards goal from one of the ends of the box and try to send a through ball to the middle - it almost always goes too strong),but now I really think they're just fine and need some practice and right timing, but still could be tweaked here and there. :)

^Yeah. In my opinion pes needs a power bar like in fifa, but pes should also keep the individuality it has in passing.

It seemed like before through balls were just a sick way of passing but now there actually needs to be defenders in the way for the computer to do a good one or it'll hit it and try and send it in front of the defenders way in front of the guy you're passing it to, which always goes to defenders.

Through balls are great on this game though, you can be near the edge of the box and just slide a lovely ball just behind the defence for your players to run onto - you didn't used to be able to do that it's almost always overhit and into the keeper's arms.

So yeah frustrating at first but I think through balls are better you just can't use them all the time. I will admit though that even when conditions are just right for one you still have them intercepted....
