Top 10: Things that will make PES 2009 great.

I wonder if they'll bring in the sound of photographers snapping away when the ball gets whipped into the box.

Ye I Really Think They Should Get John Motson And Mark Lawrenson!!! As Commentators, Have A Medical Staff. When You Make A Substitution Or , Make Them Warm Up On The Side, Or Even At The Start Of A Match, Pick 3 Players You Might Use As Subs.and They Warm Up Until U Pick Them, The Longer They Warm Up The Less Likely An Injury Will Occur

I don't see how anything you've mentioned will improve the game in my opinion. I wouldn't say anything there is that necessary.

Sort of on the subject of subs warming up, I've always thought it would be cool if you could see the sub waiting on the touchline with the 4th official. Obviously, this would only happen if you pause to make substitutions mid-gameplay; if you pause and change players when the ball is out of play, you won't see this - the substitutions will occur as normal. Or, maybe, the substitution won't happen until the ball goes out again, especially if the throw in or set-piece is taken quickly.

Of course, this won't effect the gameplay, but it would be a nice addition.

You say this is not necessary, well when PES becomes the best ever , people will look at the little details and see that PES gets all the details.
Anyway, first it will be that the gameplay is crap, then we will say this is crap etc until one day we will pick these little details out and say " where is the 4th official?, why isnt he warming up?, why is the grass so smudged?"

I just think that by finishing the little details will be a big step closer towards a perfect game; there will never be a perfect game, always room for improvement

remember the saying "its the little things that make a big difference

but to me, I skip everything, because I want to play the game... I don't want to watch the subs warming up as it wreck the flow of your play (maybe if you paused the game for whatever reason). I see where you're coming from, but that kind of thing is a cool detail, but for 2009 they will have very different priorities

One improvement i would like is making penalties more exciting. How about selecting how each player will shoot before the penalties start. Even adding options to blast it or chip it in. Even approaching options (C.Ronaldo). Same for goalies. Have multiple diving options. Like aggressive right, semi-aggressive right, or weak right. Fake right- go left. Or you could choose random for everything and watch it. This would entail adding multiple goalie animations to deal with multiple outcomes to make it as realistic as possible.

After all is seleted you watch it like a real penalty shootout on TV at a slight angle. You have control of cheering/celebrations maybe and crowd noice after goals or blocks.

Even have a player ability that has to do with the pressure of taking a penalty kick. This ability would affect accuracy when being down on penalties or when the opposing team makes a great save.

You could switch this option off and playout the same old penalties if you wanted. I know this would be alot of work but it's an idea :p.

This is a really good idea, but in a multilayer game, does this mean your opponent would have to leave the room whilst you picked?

For PS lets say:
In multiplayer you could prevent cheating by having the same pre-penalty player screen. You scroll down to first shooter and press x opening "direction of shot" option. All possible shooting directions appear linked to a,b,x,y and even L1-a,b,x,y, L2-a,b,x,y, R1-etc and R2-etc for a possible 4X5 = 20 directions .When you select it it just disaperes and brings up next options like shot power options again linked to buttons. Then approach options.
Same for goalie. You select dive options for each shooter and you can even select random if you get annoyed after the first 5. You can have it all defaulted to random if you want hit start and enjoy the show :).

1. Gameplay

The gameplay has to be improved. this years is far to arcadey for someone who has played pes since the first release and it is like a different game. The game is not as challenging or rewarding as say the ps2 version or fifa 08 with pass assistance turned off. The game needs to go somewhat back to its roots where clever play and perfectly timed shots were the name of the game. 90 percent of the time a long shot will fly into the corner and this has to be stopped. it seems the players stance and other factors dont seem to matter anymore. The game is also badly scripted and this is something again that has to be looked at, if you scrutinise games and the league table anybody can see this.

2. Edit Mode

I dont think that it is crucial to overhaul the edit mode but certain things need to be added that in tandem with improved gameplay will make the shelf life improve to the usual standards of playing pes until the netx release. Simple factors such as being able to untuck shirts will give the game even more realism.

There are many other factors that are harder to put into a list such as the inclusion of german teams and this will also be helped by an improved edit mode. Player models also need to be improved as some models look like bad ps2 carnations taken out of a game as bad as club football, Im not talking about the faces here as most of them are photo realistic. Sounds quite sad but the shape of the netting also needs to be changed as that looks extremely unrealistic. Im sre i have forgotten certain points but there are too many.

yeah I see what you mean. I would prefer that to what we have now for sure. It'd make penalties almost worth doing. Almost :)

Yeah i mean penalties will always be a guessing game. If it came down to playing with buddies ,in a tournament lets say, I would just agree to select random for everything and watch away for fun.
Why have control of something that's really more fun (sorta) to watch :p. You could have control of camera angles while they line up to shoot. Just select your lineup and enjoy the show. May the best man win.

3 things:

1: When you pause during a game, let something be happening in the little box with the manager in. Seems kinda pointless at the moment. So towards the end of the game, trailing by a goal. Have your manager frantically barking orders. And when you make a change of player, when you pause the game see him warming up or something

2: Better grass, it just simply looks horrible and unrealistic at the moment.

3: Smoother graphics, Merge between fifa and pro would be brilliant. But not much change to the gameplay except more possible movements

10 things that will make pes 2009 better

1. lots more and different sized stadiums - not every stadium has to be 65,000 capacity
2. realistic and adjustable budgets for every club in master league
3. master league replaced with real leagues, including lower leagues of all major european countries: england, germany, france, scotland, italy, spain, portugal, holland, belgium, denmark, sweden, norway etc. infinite number of seasons as before, propper sized champions league, uefa cup etc.
4. south american expansion pack: same as with europe but with south american teams and leagues
5. peter brackley and david pleat commentary
6. pes 5/6 edit mode - pes 2008 edit mode is just dog dirt
7. shirt sponsors in game to choose from, they already are on the adboards, sure it wud be easy to get mansion, toyota, and a load of others.
8. computer AI to be more passing, less dribbling, more realistic AI defenders, less superhuman, better positioning and movement for all players
9. all kits fully editable
10. realistic injuries, injury lengths, fatigue etc for master league

what do you guys think?

well one thing you have caught my eye on and i stronglyy appeal for is more realistic fatigue and stamina bars, look at these big clubs in real life, they practicly use the same team ever match, eg: Manchester United, Arsenal etc.
there may be 1 person that may need to be changed but if you notice, the guy runs (in pes) and his stamina just stays where he left it like he doesnt recover
thats not realistic is it now?
