Hi all. Just a couple of questions regarding Be a Legend mode.

My main question is as the topic title suggests, how do you win a transfer to one of the big 4? ie; Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea? Im currently in my 5th season (cant remember age) think im 23 and most stats are 78+, some are 90+ and im also a regular first team member of the England squad but everytime a transfer period comes along i only seem to get offers from teams such as Newcastle, Stoke, West ham etc etc..........

Is it possible to start at one of the big 4 from the first scouting match?

and does playing games effect which teams try to buy you? because if im perfectly honest the first 3 seasons i skipped 80% of the matches to get my stats up....

Maybe its me skipping matches whats doing it? as iv just read another thread stating "im playing for man u currently in my 4th season" im in my 5th and had zero offers from any "BIG" club, havnt recieved an offer from any big club abroad either =/

Its probably wise to start playing matches constantly as I assume other teams come at you based on the ratings you receive and the prices you win next to just stats alone. When you skip games, you get neither of those.

Yeah I would also say that you need to start playing matches each week to get your ratings up. What club are you at now?

the difficulty is set to regular and the career so far is lol

Man city (after scout match)
Aston villa (2 seasons)
Newcastle (1 season, never played me)
West Brom (omg lol)

It probably is the rating system as you said whats doing it. Its just the england call ups seem to work regarding your stats. Because i got called up to the national team half way through the 2nd season and i skipped every league game lol but my stats where looking good so i thought club teams also did the same thing and recruited on your stats.

Does the first scout match have a big affect on your starting stats? i know it does have some affect but how much? because i know your only 17 when you start and cant expect to be a world beater strait away but if you go to transfer market and advanced search and put in the age limits between 15 - 17 (your own age group) there are roughly 5 strikers above you in market value and 2 or 3 of them have almost all green stats at 17!! (75 or above)

Search the forum for info on the scout match, there´s some threads around where people tried the scout match several times.

Just go play some matches.. :D You get some match experience points then too, although those are generally marginal at best... (at top player)

mine is also regular and its like this:
man city- 1
totenham- 3 1/2
man utd- 1/2
chelsea- 1/2
real madrid- still playing

i played 80% of the games in each team

The thing that I think helps get offers from big clubs is winning awards and titles. Winning league or cups (or even get to the finals) will get you much better offers... of course, you need to play well in the games too!!

I'm about 90% certain that you cant get into a big club after the first scouting match. A couple of days ago I just decided to see what clubs you are able to get into from a scouting match. And after playing a couple of matches in which I got pretty good grades afterwards (7.0-8.0), but not very interesting club offers (clubs like Portsmouth and such), I downloaded an editing program.

I gave my player perfect stats (everything except goalkeeping 70-95), and I played a couple of brilliant matches (loads of passes, loads of shots on goal, a large distance dribbled and 6+ goals). But even this didnt help much, as the best offer I got was from Middlesbrough.

So I suppose that its impossible to get into a big club right away. Its not very realistic, but I suppose it does make BAL more fun. It would kinda suck if you could win all club honours in your first two seasons.

"because if im perfectly honest the first 3 seasons i skipped 80% of the matches to get my stats up"

that'll be the problem right there buddy.
I'd think it highly unlikely you'd make a transfer to any of the top teams after the scout match - I've seen some people post high ratings (7.5 and above) after scout matches and while it definitely has positive effects on your starting attributes I've not heard of anyone making an immediate signing to Utd/Chelsea etc. Would kind of defeat the purpose too...

Skipping games to boost stats may have been false economy too - I'd wager if you compared your current stats to other legends of the same age who have played more or less right through you'd find on average their stats to be higher.

If you want to really enjoy this mode and progress might be worth considering starting again with a fresh legend. I moved to Chelsea half way through my 3rd season (top player) and I've heard of moves to top clubs quicker than that too. Just get stuck in!

Yeh i understand guys :)

I do however have a fresh query

Ok..... as a test i decided to start a new be a legend mode character and put it on the easiest level there was (beginner i think) in my first season i was top scorer of D1 Cup and my team won the cup, i was top scorer overall in the world with 64 goals lol i was also the top rated player in the world with a rating of 8.00 average (when you gto league info then total ratings.... rooney was 2nd with 7.56). Got top scorer in the league and got middlesbrough into the top 3.

STILL!!!! didnt get any offers from a top 4 team lol and it was terribly easy, i was scoring roughly 4-5 goals a game. in the first season id gotten all of those awards and got called upto the england squad and got most valuable player of the european championships lol

maybe my games glitched? the best offer i got was from bayern munich who were ranked 70th lol not a prayer of moving to them seeing as middlesbrough were ranked 30th

middlesbrough (or a team like that) 1 season
man u
chelsea
