Tournaments: Stupid fee... why not a standard?

Well, first of all, excuse my english. I speak spanish, so I'll try to be clear on this.

I am on D2 (subadictos) and I suppose I'm not the only one who thinks it's stupid the fee for playing tournaments.

I mean, my team cost over 70 millions (euros) and I must pay over 700 thousand euros for entering.

This mean I can't play the LM tournament because a D4 or D5 only give me, most of the time, only 60 or 70 thousand euros after the game.

So, in 6 games, I could lose money even if I receive a bonus after the tournament. So I must finish between top 16 or I lost money. Simply stupid.

Konami should set a standard fee for division (D1 must pay more than a D5, of course, but in a way you don't lose money for playing!!!).

At this point, maybe in a close future I won't play any tournament... :(

well thats the whole point of mlo...you dont just go in and walk away with money when your team is already stacked, makes keeping your superstars a tiny bit more challenging if at all

the thing is, he will often get matched up with d5 players and gets no money. It's not like he chooses too.

It's more of a game flaw than challenge.

Good thread,Maltrain.

Personaly I have also similar question for Konami regarding so called "money makers".
I'm talking about players which are selling their top level and expensive squads right after they has been qualified to top divisions like D3,D2 or D1.
Mean, after qualifying to D2,for example, they are selling all their Kaka's,Messi's and Ronaldo's,etc, keep their 100 mlns budgets as "free" money and playing in the D2 Cup for a next 5-6 days only with "default" players or even worse.
Yes,they are loosing a lot,but they are paying also really small money to play in D2 Cup.And if I'll beat one of them in the cup games,I'll have joking 50 000 for the win and this guy will has for his lose few times more of money than me.
Also as we all know,Konami is still a really big jokers lol. So,even "default" squad has reagular chances to beat or to draw top level opponents in the coach/manager mode of D2 or D3 Cup games.
So,they are playing like this for 5-6 days, grabbing their money with cheap squads and buying back their top players only 1-2 days before the next qualifying date, just to have enough of rank points to keep themselfs in the top divisions.
And after qualifying date the story is repeats again.

well if he gets paired up against a couple of d5 players with default squads and still couldnt qualify for the next round then he deserves to lose money in tournaments in my opinion, the point of MLO is its supposed to be challenging to get and maintain the funds needed to buy these big name players, hence comes the alternative of getting less expensive players. I actually think its not harsh enough for those super teams, and maintaining the team takes absolutely no skill at all

Or better yet, have it where players age and decline and have more incentive to buy younger players.

Though I'm aware it would be difficult to implement considering it would need users starting on one database at the same time, but I'm sure there is some way it could be worked around.

Do a rotation, when they retire, they regenerate as youth (maybe change their growth potential) Just need to add about 500 more random players to the game (Romaldo, Mezzi, Roodey, Toarez, etc...)

Look, the thing is, in a tournament ML you can beat two games to players in D5 or D4 division, but you also can be defeat for a D2 or a D1. And that's all for your 9 points... even with 9 points you are not in the second round for sure... and in most of the cases you lose money.
I don't say that you must put a little fee... maybe 500 thousand for my division (D2) or something like that.
But why should be a punishment to have a great team when you have work a lot for having it?

so that its a tiny little bit more challenging to maintain instead of everyone having a super team at the end?even though it didnt have much success but surely thats the sole purpose of it

Couple of issues that need to be addressed:

Entrance fee should rely on club value, not squad value. As someone else already pointed out, there are teams with crap squads grinding tournament after tournament. The no.1 guy on the xbox 360 does this, as well as being a cheater. Its stupid...

Tournaments need to be smaller. It takes like 2 hours and 10 minutes from start to finish if you were to make it to the final. Cut it in half I would say, most of the higher division tournaments never fill up anyway. They're like below 25% capacity all the time.
