"Training promising players" questions

I'm a little confused about this. Every time I acquire promising players I can't develop them nowhere. I usually have them like 10-12 weeks (which I think is a regular time?) and I get 10 points per game. You don't get nowhere with that time and with those points.

So my questions are:

Does the period vary or is the training period always the same amount of time?

Do I need to put the promising players on to the field, does it matter if they play or not?

Do you always get 10 points from a game to develop them?

And finally: who an earth has managed to develop "an ideal player" like it says in the manual? I must be missing something because my players always stay at the sucking level. All the tips and help are appreciated.

Play the players in the games.
I played Piliniak for as long as possible & scored a couple of goals with him in the first few games. The points awarded are based on their performance ratings at the end of the game.
I got between 30-50 points per game.
It helps if you get a decent cup run as well, the points from these games can be used as you progress, as well as League matches.
That means you can play at least 15 games & max-out most of the growth players stats.

the number of points you receive is also linked to the difficulty level you play on. so you get more points for playing on 5* than you would if you were playing on 4*.

Growth players are the potential best players of your squad, you can not find players like you will develop from them anywhere in the market, if you do it right.

Buy your growth player preferably when you get promoted to div 1. Buy him before friendly games you can schedule during off season. Schedule with easier team, with teams you can beat. Play your growth player full 90 mins. Forward players are more likely to become super stars, as there's more of a chance that you can score with them. Let him take both side corner kicks, to increase possibility of getting an assist.

Everytime you play a growth player 90 mins, I can't exactly remember how much but you get around 30+ points. If you win that game, it's about 50+, and if you manage to score with him, i believe it gets 60+ per week.play him every game regardless of his form or anything, time is something you can not buy in the process.

As you start getting points for him, first use them in the areas you'd most need in the game, i push speed, acceleration and dribbling first myself. Like I said, let him play every game, cover his weakness with other players and let him stay in the game.

I was able to grow super star players doing this, many abilities with 90-95+, couple additional special abilities also added. You will see that after one season (oh and i was able to train him for almost a season long), you have earned yourself a cheap superstar. Oh by the way, give him the money he wants and sign him for 5 years to begin with, he's yours for a low salary for the next 5 years.

Yep, follow these rules and you can have your own superstar! On WE6:FE, I built up a team entirely made up of development players, though i didn't start bringing them in until i had a team of superstars to 'cover' for them. I wouldn't try signing development players until you have a decent team to support them.

I also found (though I'm not sure if it's still the case with PES3) that you could substitute your development player after half-time without losing many development points. this not only meant that the player wasn't totally knackered all the time, but also meant you could bring on a decent player for most of the second half to try to make up for whatever damage was caused by playing a talentless idiot for the first 60 minutes...

It's all about being able to afford his existence on the field. If you sub him out, yea you lose a little bit, not much. But hey, I was greedy, i wanted to get the most out of him. And like I mentioned before, do this in Div 1 as you'll have more games to play, more games more points!

Erm... I just bought a player Ibsen to train in between seasons. I sheduled 3 freindlies & he only played them & 11 other matches, then the ability to raise his stats was removed!!
He had 14 matches (most of which I won) to train & was only average.
Is there a reason why he only had 14 matches where his stats were increased?

SVB, it's completely random how long a growth player is given to improve. I suppose it is to reflect how much potential they have.

Guys how do i even get a player i can develope ??
When you are in Masterleague mode you can buy them in the normal negotiation way, from the "growth" section of players.
Then you can train them (improve their stats) by playing the player in your ML squad. Then after the match, go to the "train promising players" section & adjust the stats.

Never sign a Promising Player in the last negotiaion window before the end of season, the one where the player will join you at the end of the season. Why? Because the games after he's agreed to sign will count towards the total amount of games you get to train him.

my whole ML squad is now of promising players! You best bet its to buy Piliniak, Van Gouh and Melo! Plus if you want a decent centre back buy Raimondi! (Hes Italian so that makes him a good defender!)

yes that is exactly how i have my ml the only bad point is that you cannot get offers from other clubs to buy your growth players so you will have to release them....which isnt that deer

The hardest part you will find about promising players is that Defenders never really seem to get enough points!
