Quick Question

Sorry can I ask just ask a question?

I'm trying to gain an understanding of how to create these patches for ps2. I can follow the guide no problem by the way, good job!

Anyway, why do we apply jonboyo's patch at the beginning editing music? What does it do?

Maybe it's a stupid question but I'm new to this and I'm just trying to figure things out.

Thanks.

Im not sure wherabouts you read it. Nope, it's just if your using jonboyo's patch, and how it edit music within that patch. You have to edit music in that patch, you can edit music with the original Pro Evo music.

Oh right okay. Cheers mate.

Can any of the PC tutorials be used as a rough guide to ps2 editing does anyone know? Ajay's ones for example...

I know there would be a few differences but it would be somewhat similar would it? I mean a lot of the files would be the same for both versions would they?

Thanks.

Thanks tons for this guide.

Ive got to say along with the guide there was many hours of trial and error to go with it.

I now have many of my favorite tunes on my fav game. I honestly thought the original music was nothing short of pants. However I bought a footy sim and not a cd.

A few Qs

Why does it have to be 22k for the freq of the wav files? Why not 44?

Has anyone noticed that the tunes you put for the highlights and the 'start next half' screen are of a really low volume or is it me?

Thanks again for taking the time to write this great guide,

Mickey

I am guessing it is because there is commentary over top of these in the game.

Thought I would revise this thread since I am currently baffled by all this patching business. I have a question:

Would this guide work for patching music on PES5 ?

I would think so.

The menu sounds in PES5 are located in the same file as PES4 (O_SOUND.AFS).

The only difference here is that the filenames of the ADX files has changed from PES4 to PES5.

I was going to have a go at putting in my own music in a patched version of PES5 soon. So I reckon I'll probably be posting a guide myself in about two to three weeks time.

Thankies a bunch for all those words about my guide! I appriciate that!

I've tried editing the music on PES5 the same way as in the tutorial and it worked out fine. I really dislike the music choices that are around, so I put my own music to the game instead.

I'll go ahead and update this guide for a PES5 version, as there are a couple of minor details that should be taken care of... I'll update it as soon as I get some spare time. I'll also fix the links in my previous guide so it gets more detailed.

Thankies again, everyone!

Are you sure?

I might try Acid Pro if it can convert WAV to ADX without using the adxencd program.

I can confirm that this is 100% bull.

I've just downloaded a trial version of Acid Pro 6.0, installed it and tried opening up a .WAV file. The only file formats you could save from within Acid Pro is .ACD or .ACD-ZIP.

mic123, I think you got a little confused between the .ADX file format and the .ACD file format. I'm sure most people here would agree that there is a remarkable difference between the two formats. ;)
