Ultimate Update: Pro Evolution Soccer 3

If you saw anything with sponsors, that would have been either for a patched version of WE6:FE or one of the licenced teams on PES3 which doesn't include Tottenham.
If not, let us know which issue of which magazine this was in.

There is no "E" in X-Port ;)

Definitely Maybe

I've ordered the Update disc off Play.com, but its out of stock, so I'll have to wait to get it anyway.

Do you reckon I should cancel or not?

Bearing in mind that my mate is ordering the update disc as well, so could I just borrow his?

I don't think so because then the incentive to sell/buy a PES3 disc would be gone. Anyway, rosters won't exactly be updated if you do load a PES2 update disc (assuming it worked).

The main page at www.pesinsight.com
has a link for the disk at £8.99

An X-Port is only 17.99 and you can use it a lot for all of your PS2 games rather than just one.

Yeah, an X-Port definately seems the better option. I ordered one off of cd-wow on Friday. The update disc can apparently corrupt other files on your memory card so I wouldn't go near it, it can also have some other problems. As well as this, what is the point of cheating, there isn't a better feeling than scoring a last minute goal to win that cup for yourself!

I borrowed the update disc from a mate and I must say I’m not very impressed. At first I thought they would just update the European teams, then I realise they have overwritten teams like Nottingham Forest over European teams. Doesn’t this defeat the object of having a Master League which is based on European competition? The flags and kits aren’t up to much either. In the 1st few days I played around with the badges and produced more realistic flags than the examples in the update disc. Oh, and for the more hawkeyed of you if you look closely the Man Utd flag has the words “cheats”, “scum” and “cunts” embellished in the badge. Quite funny, but is it professional for a disc to be sold nationwide? Sums up this half arsed effort really. And to add insult to injury I lost all my previously edited data. So, can someone direct me to an x-port download with updated European teams? Is there one ready yet?

hahaha LMAO!!!

Oh well, tiny things please tiny minds....

I tried a demo of this update thingy and yeah it turns teams like Panathanaikos into Sunderland etc. To be honest, i'd rather spend £8.99 in the pub because you could edit everything in PES3 in an afternoon.

got it for a tenner as I don't like the idea of chipping my ps2 (altho for the kits with sponsors etc i might) and its cheaper than an xport and i wanted it NOW!!!!
Also I'll sell it back to em or try to trade it for an xport save a fiver maybe and at least i'll get a reasonable update until then.

I'll write tomorrow what I think of it.

Also it's worth the tenner alone for the Man U badge.

Superb.

:D

I must say I`m somewhat irritated now. I have ordered the update disc because it was recommended in the main page, and now Zygalsci says it is no good? Time to remove the link then? :-(

Its only a tenner and having had a look at it, its pretty good. People are complaining that it overwrites teams like Olympiakos with First Division teams which subsequently ruins the National teams - well they obviously have a problem following incredibly simple options like PES3 UPDATE (when you select this an info bar tells you this will correct all names and teams, and kits)
or ENGLISH DIVISION UPDATE (with a warning that this will possibly lead to changing National teams(!) )
and on both you have the option for EVERYTHING UNLOCKED or left for you to do.

I chose UNLOCKED and got access to Classic Brazil, England, the Argies, Italy, Germany and France.

The badges have all been updated to pretty much as good as your going to get with Pro Evo's Editing System.

The Kits aren;t perfect but close enough.

In short, as I wrote above, the only way I would update it would be if someone can get sponsors on shirts, and absolutely correct kits, and badges.

Otherwise I think this is much of a muchness.

Oh actually one final thing, not all tranfers have been done.

Chelsea have Glen Johnson and Duff but not Crespo for example.

Man U don't have Djemba Djemba or Ronaldo.

Liverpool have Harry Kewell but he's number 15 not 7. Smicer is 7 not 11.

But these are a few minor things. I'm glad I bought it - put it that way.

I didn't post the article for the Update disk on the main page. As you can see in the X-Port thread, I have been going on and on about how much better and more useful an X-Port is. If you want to update PES3 only, and can't be bothered to go for the sensible option of an X-Port, then good luck to you but keep in mind that there have been more people complaining about the update disk than praising it. Like I've said before - get an X-Port once and manage all of your PS2 game files forever, including PES2, PES3, PES4, PES5, and so on (not to mention WE games too) or go for the quick and sweet option of the update disk for fixing only one game - it's up to you.

If anyone wants a PES3 Option file for X-Port, they are all available in the Editing section.

:) I also don't work for Konami but I still recommend PES to everyone I know :)

Sometimes you should go for the option which makes sense long term.
