Unlock extra players in ML

Hi just a quick question is there a way of unlocking extra players in ML mode apart from the ones available in the PES shop?
It's just that I have a mate who plays it, and he said once a message came up on his that said new master league players unlocked but he can't remember what he had done.Since then on his game a player came through on his called Barns(Who is very similar to John Barnes) who was only 15 and already amazing.
Any help is appreciated.

I saw him for myself,even had a go of him.It's strange because Barnes is in the classic england team but it's spelt Burdner.

maybe he just made a player and is messing u around. ive unlocked classic teams and i still cant find some classic players in master league its pissing me off any help.

I was there when it happened because we were playing as team mates on a ML.
If he's a regen then who is he a regen of?
Also aren't all newcomers 17 as opposed to 15?

Pretty sure he is lying, i have never heard of this happening, if a new player is unlocked as you say, he just turns up and you have to find him yourself. The game throws up alot of regens. Barnes is just a coincidence i quess.
