Updating Option File for unchipped PS2 with HDD??

I have a PS2 with a HDD. I have patched a PES4 iso using jono's PPF and loaded it onto the HDD using WINHIIP, my problem now is getting the player transfers and correct player names working.

I have tried using an option file image (you know the one that loads the option file from the CD-R onto the PS2 Memory card - althoguh i had to load it onto the HDD like i do to a game) and it ran okay but the problem is that it tries to copy the option file from the CD drive not from the HDD.

The only other way i can think of doing it is to extract the pes4 iso (after i have patched it with jono's pff) and the replace some files in the image with edited files then put it back into an iso and burn it. Thing is i don't know if this is possible and if so where can i find the requires files???

Wow, complicated.

Can't you copy the option file from the CD to your memory card? The file on the memory card always take priority over what is on the game disk anyway.

Otherwise the option file could be imported into one of the SPLM files I think.

You can download jb's latest update patch with a database included if you wish. That way you will have an up-to-date option file built in. I cannot vouch for the quality of the built in option file in jb's latest patch but it's a good place to start.

If you want to try the CD to Memory Card thing then I would recommend Zygalski and Mark&Dawns latest re-working of PESFan Option File. Should be posted by the big man above as I write this!

yeah the problem with the cd to memory card is that my ps2 isn't chipped so it wont read the cd if it burn it. So instead i have to put it in my pc, put the ps2 hard drive in the PC use the WINHIIP program to load the game onto the HDD, then i put the HDD back in the ps2 and boot it up. Problem occurs when the CD 2 memory program starts, it can locate my memory card but when it tries to replace it, it tries to copy from the CD drive, but the option file i want is on the HDD.

I have heard people talk about replacing files in the bin before or after (or maybe within) the ppf patch but i haven't found any actual files. Any idea where the pff patch with the database included can be found?

edit: oh don't worry i re-read the jono's patch thread and found the link
