Urgent help needed with PS2 Memory Card please!

I just got Max Drive today but when I insert the disc it loads and then a red screen appears with 'Please insert a Playstation or Playstation2 format disc' - what the hell do I need to do? What disc is it on about?

Above is now sorted ^^^ Cheers Mike.

New problem below:

EDIT*
When I tried transfering an option file to my Memory Card something happened and it said I had nothing on my memory card even though some space had been taken up. I then had to format my memory card and losing everything to get it working again :(

Has that happened to anyone else?

Just keep trying. Reset it a couple of times and try turning your PS2 on it's side.

Yeah - the memory card manager in MAX Drive is VERY slow....patience is a virtue...I got my option file happening with it...but it takes time alright..

I use max drive and my ps2. What i do is download the option file from these forums, then i unzip it, then in 'my computer' when you plug your max drive into your p.c, it shows up as 'removable drive G' or 'removable drive F' etc, now, you dont need to use the max drive P.c disc, just get the option file.max and simply drag it into that removable drive F in my computer. once you done that, take your max drive out of your p.c's usb port and plug it in your playstation, then put the max drive disc for ps2 into your playstation and turn on your ps2, now uncrush the option file to memory card1 (or whatever slot your mem card is in) once you have done this, restart the ps2 with the pro evo disc in, bada bing you're good to go.
Hope this helps

Yeah, I did all that mate after ScouseMike14's reply :D . Thanks anyway though.

What I did wrong was thinking it had deleted everything off me memory card and then formting my memory card. I wish I would have knew to wait for a bit longer.
